I’ve put in a honest effort to read up on textualism and I can’t draw any conclusions beyond it is a total intellectual fraud which basically ignores centuries of historical epistemology. No honest intelligent person can actually believe it.

I'm not a lawyer, read up on it and it sounds like complete bull****. One article simply had to outline how he ruled in one case (something about the govt wanting to drug test employees) and just that blew his "textualism" assertions out of the water.

I think he pulled it out of his ass from looking at the picture, which is why I called him out... I say that because she doesn't have a Wikipedia page, the top two pages of Google results didn't seem to have anything on her, and a quick search of tweets about the gesture didn't have anything on it either.

I'm guessing I did more research on her than BMOL, so I doubt he had any evidence of his claim and was just making it up on the fly.

I see it and I thought that the sieg Heil salute by Ingraham during the GOP convention was just an artifact of a still shot. But I don't think it matters. Not really, given that she's his former law clerk, is sitting right behind him for the most important day of his professional life, and is purposely flashing white power signs to the camera during his Senate hearing. That's a pretty big ****ing deal.
