Not enough accented c's in dildo, dildo-ology or dildoist. I doubt c***ologist survives the filter.

Some folks in this thread believe they are heavy drinkers when they are not.

Heavy drinkers can lose entire ****ing days. They can look you in the eye and hold a rationale conversation for an hour and not remember they ever met you the next day. And they can do it over, and over, and over again.

I don't know anything about Kavanaugh and my personal hot take is that this instance has become about a lot of priviliged folks thinking about how they may have acted at another time in their life when there were few penalties for choices that made someone else feel like ****, and praying to god they don't ever have to account for it.

But the idea that BK could have wagged his dick at someone and not remember ever knowing them, yeah I can buy that easy. Same for the Ford assault. And once **** get's hazy, it's nothing to just make up another reality and go with that. There's no reason this all can't be true and BK is still honest in his indignation.

Also unless you were drugged, you chose to be blackout drunk.

I take it that you are not a drunk or alcoholic, offering wisdom from your years of experience?

No. But I know drunks, some of whom are relatives.

Do you believe all addicts are always responsible for taking their addictions to the extreme?

Yeah well I know drunks, some of whom are not your relatives.

I'm going back to reading status. Folks, unless you've been there, just trust that you can have a perfectly normal-seeming experience with someone who will never, ever remember it.

I am having flashbacks of my crim law school class.

In most cases, I am going to say yes since for the most part they took the actions that led to the addiction.

How does that relieve the drunk of responsibility?

How many young sporty men doing very well at school are likely to be black out* drunk early in the evening when we have no reason to think they had blacked out? Most likely he was just drunk.

*For him not to remember at all we would be talking about a major blackout, not the sort where bit come back to you later.

This Kavanaugh thing is weirdly fascinating

Umm, like 50% of them?

Blacking out simply coincides with when people are least inhibited because they're the most drunk; it's not as if it's some different brain state entirely.

I've heard people try to excuse ****ty behavior on account of being blacked out, so to me it's unhealthy to characterize it as you're "not in control".

A dude who non consensually sticks his penis in a woman's face while somewhat drunk would very plausibly commit rape or more aggressive sexual assault pretty freely while blacked out. But it's not because suddenly nobody is driving the bus. It's merely because he's less inhibited than usual, and he's in fact a ****ty aggressive rapist at his core. The blackout is irrelevant.

I agree. I have blacked out a few times, usually after drinking and not smoking weed until after I’m pretty drunk. People I was with couldn’t tell the difference. Just memory fuzzies. My tell is tipping more.

I do know one person from high school that has serious sleepwalking and peeing in weird area issues when he has been drinking lol. I don't know where that lies in the scale.
10-02-2018 , 10:48 AM
Isnt the issue is not the daily alcoholic that builds tolerance, but rather the binge drinker--sober for days or weeks then gets to that "tipover" drink and loses all judgement and inhibition. More alcohol followed by some extreme behavior?

That Arizona "sex crimes prosecutor" is who we thought she was

10-02-2018 , 10:56 AM
Alcoholic here, lots of terrible decisions when blacked out like drunk driving, wasting money, etc., but never any type of aggressive sexual behavior. Everyone is wired different and I truly sympathize with people who have a problem, but just as I should be held accountable for drunk driving and debts incurred, sexual offenders don’t get a pass because they were drunk.

Is the below accurate?

Flake wants cover to vote Yes, without women stopping him in elevators.

Collins wants cover to vote Yes, but may be willing to vote No if more bad stuff or enough corroboration of bad stuff comes out.

Murkowski wants cover to vote No, due to Alaska politics, but will vote Yes if she's the only R opposed.

Maybe even more, if limited to the sample size of Georgetown Prep illegal underage drinkers from the 80's who created such a toxic culture that their school had to send letters home to all parents, warning them that drunk boys might try to rape their daughters.

I don’t know Georgetown prep but I am sure it’s sub 50% at most private schools in NJ and NYC at least in the 90s and 2000s.

Opportunities to get hammered happen all the time but most kids choose not to drink to excess like Kavanaugh.

What happens at Georgetown Prep stays at Georgetown Prep...

Spoiler:
because we were blackout drunk and don't remember.

This sounds right to me. Manchin pretty clearly wants cover to vote Yes as well, but doesn't want to be the deciding vote.

I’d be very surprised if parents didn’t already know. Even during the 90s and 2000s in high school/college, people knew to ask friends to basically make sure the girls they know don’t get in trouble.

“Hey, man, my sister is going to that party too. Make sure she gets home okay?”
