Just shut the whole thing down, no need to ask questions. Guy's the least popular nominee in history, nothing lost there.
NPR intimated this morning that the Dems already have the impeachment/perjury material

I have no doubt whatsoever that Scalia’s seat would still be vacant today if Hillary had won, so yes, they absolutely can.

No way. I’m sure they’d have invoked some sort of order to fill it. I’m guessing the Supreme Court justifies themselves at some point have some level of authority to move the process it’s just that nobody knows because it’s never come to that before

There was talk of doing EXACTLY THIS in case Hillary won and the GOP kept the senate. They can do whatever the **** they want because most of them represent constituencies who WANT them to do this stuff.

prediction: democrat questioning will force kavenaugh to admit potus isn’t above the law, and trump will rescind his nomination over twitter this evening

I'd like to watch but have work to do and afraid I'd be cringing the whole time. Maddow spent a (slightly pre-taped due to holiday) hour last night going after Kavanaugh, particularly on his decision to prevent a detained immigrant from getting an abortion (while not explicitly saying that's what he was doing). His decision had to be overruled by the entire DC Circuit (en banc). En banc review is discretionary and something of a hail mary.

I like this Dick Durbin guy, framing the issues really well.
