Brett Kavanaugh - Interest & Discussion Brett Kavanaugh - Interest & Discussion

I think more victims might be a case of diminishing returns at this point. Ford was 100% credible but Avenatti's running a train and "FFFFFFourth of July" is pretty lol and doesn't help the cause one bit.

To believe that the other Kavanaugh allegations are false, you have to believe that it's farily easy to come up with a false allegation, and that it's trivial to have someone confirmed it.

Of course that is not how real life works and of course there are enough nutjobs who believe it does work like that.

There is a rumor being floated that I was "duped" or "pranked" by a 4Chan user re Kavanaugh. I have received multiple inquiries about it. This is completely false. It never happened; it is a total fabrication. None of it is true. The right must be very worried. They should be.

No it doesn't. Posters here are not supposed to make the errors that non poker players make. Yet I see these errors on this forum all the time. The points you are making would be sufficient to argue that he thinks that the chances of being caught in a lie are small. Maybe as low as 10%. But what odds is he laying? Its way over 9-1 and he knows it. And the upside of his claiming he was a virgin is far smaller than the downside of being caught in this lie.

If anyone remembers back super long ago to last year, when Roy Moore was in the midst of his big scandal there were a ton of right wing actors including our favorite big boy James O'Keefe that tried to plant false stories. This didn't work, because they are idiots.

There is non zero chance Kavanaugh ends up costing GOP the Congress and then resigning from SCOTUS.

One can dream right?
If Kav is appointed, he is never in a million years voluntarily stepping down.

David, where have you been the last two years? Boldly lying and denying everything even in the face of mountains of evidence is the *only* strategy to work for GOP officials in recent times!
Donald Trump!
Gianforte!
Roy Moore! (worked less, but he sure as **** didn't admit to ****)
the other 50 dudes who have been got for sex crimes whose names I forget besides Jason Miller!

Outside lawyer to question Professor Ford instead of GOP senators

Has this kind of outsourcing ever happened before?

They haven't stopped and it is working as there's millions that believe them.

Sure, we're in a post fact world that because James Woods calls someone a lying whore on twitter 30% of the country will believe him. But it is also important that while Avenatti, the NYT and other big players/institutions can suck at times that they aren't easily duped by these kind of trolls.

There still has to be a line. There is a reason the left doesn't get defaced by someone like SBC yet conservatives are so easy to do so.

Come on guys, when you call the contact number for him...he's not the one picking up. I guarantee anyone can try a similar thing, you're not getting through to him.

Every fake 4chan story reads like copypasta from 2005. This isn't how this works! That's only posted because people dumb enough to still post on 4chan in 2018 actually thinks it works like that! It's weird that 4chan has kind of bled into the mainstream now when it's traffic is surely a fraction of what it was a decade ago.
Right? Avenatti refers to this woman as his client. Meaning she has hired him for legal purposes. So, either a bunch of trolls gave a big retainer to a high priced lawyer to make him look dumb, which, lol.

Or, it's ****ing bull****

If we believe he is telling the truth as he sees it and accept the accusations as true, we basically have an incel who can't even summon up the courage to kiss a girl without being blackout drunk.

Not the type to survive pressure and shame very well.

He is probably just an idiot who wilted under pressure and told an easily falsifiable lie gambling nobody will come forward.

That's not a profile to survive public shaming either.

locium finally stopped posting.

Because it was posted by a moron, who thinks they are smart yet does not understand how one goes about being represented by a lawyer!
09-25-2018 , 04:25 PM
IDK, 4chan types seem dumb enough to raise money for a retainer just to own the libs.

Kind of sad because I enjoyed his role as a thorn in Trump's side. This will clearly be the end of any sort of relevance for him if he was really duped by internet trolls.
Like, how do you think this played out?

1) Some 4chan troll contacts him and is like "hey I was assaulted by Kav"
2) ???
3) Avenatti goes public

Your theory is essentially that step 2 doesn't exist?
09-25-2018 , 04:40 PM
This seems very relevant to kav nomination

https://www.theatlantic.com/amp/arti...mpression=true

Scotus case coming up in some months about dual sovereignty. Basically judges could decide in a way that for some convolute legal reasons I don't 100% understand make it so that trump pardon could block state investigations. Case isn't about anything trump related, but if judges change the dual-sovereignty thing a fed pardon works for state and viceversa if it's the same crime.

Not sure about procedural details but I suppose that kav has to be on the court when they start proceedings so this changes the equation about lame duck appointments?

Also Hatch explicitly asking the court to kill dual sovereignty
