Its completely impossible to try and claim Abdulelah is innocent of not being an extremist mouthpiece with direct links to Al Qaeda which is what he got his 5 year sentence for. Its completely dumb to think this is some kind of revenge for uncovering some unrelated story.

OMG some journo who uncovered a story that 99% of Americans have never heard of or remember is being released, quick to the batphone Obama, we need to stop him from being released despite having no evidence to show he isnt a dangerous person!

Completely ridiculous concept.

he's not "innocent" of that in that it used to be legal to use free speech even for extremists.

Phil, can you give us a cite or examples of him being a mouthpiece for AQ? IIRC NYT and other major American outlets were printing his work, maybe they should be locked up as well?

Seems like he was just asking questions any journalist would ask if they were to interview a terrorist.

If reporting their words makes him a mouthpiece, then, well....

No, everything that is covering the story is an untrustworthy blog written by people with agendas. Hopefully some real news organisation is digging into the story so we will know for sure but until then it makes sense to apply occam's razor which would indicate there is strong evidence of his link to AQ going well beyond that of a normal reporter.

Yeah great record. Can't wait to see him bragging about the ndaa, patriot act, acta, killing juvenile americans convicted of no crime, crusading against whistle blowers and government transparency, and lets not forget the health care bill where he sold out his progressive base to the insurance industry, selling out the fda to monsanto, keeping GS in charge, etc. I'm expecting some really inspirational commercials on those topics
