Looks like twitter liberals and twitter conservatives agree: Sarah Jeong is a racist piece of **** who will make a fine addition to the NY Times Editorial Board

We are long overdue for a LOL NYT thread.

I was gonna do an ikes parody reply to goofy's climate post but figured the topic was played out. Come back an hour later and see Praetor1an did it for real.

Please. A bunch of alt-right douchebags digging up old tweets and clutching their pearls while ignoring how badly trolled, harassed, and threatened women and minorities get through social media on a regular basis.

They gotta go **** themselves.

Quote:
All Estela Juarez wanted for her ninth birthday was for her family to be allowed to stay together.

The gift from Donald Trump’s administration, however, was fully in keeping with its zero-tolerance stance on immigration. On Friday, Juarez, an American citizen, will leave the only country she has ever known and board a plane to Mexico as US officials enforce a deportation order against her mother, Alejandra.

Her father, a former US marine, national guardsman and decorated combat veteran, will stay in Florida with Juarez’s 16-year-old sister, Pamela.

The breaking apart of American military families marks a new low point in Trump’s war on immigration, some White House critics believe, while Alejandra Juarez – who is being expelled 20 years after she entered the US illegally from Mexico as a teenager – says it is a “slap in the face”.

“When I think about the service my husband has given this country it just breaks my heart,” she said.

Yup, this exactly. Remove all context, isolate the tweet, send robo-emails about how mad you are, rinse and repeat.

Some companies are wising up to the scam but some are still wrongfully terminating.

Anyone else getting rate limited by twitter? Tweets that won’t open in a regular window open fine in a private window.

If you told me in 2000 that either Apple would worth a trillion dollars or Trump would be president, I would have taken up base jumping or something; maybe joined a monastery in Tibet. The key to Trump's branding was a book he didn't write and a show he didn't produce. Apple's was a derivative mp3 player whose popularity was the result of widespread copyright infringement.

iPhone was really the key IMO. Apple went to a whole new level after that.

Conservative outrage about the ban of... plastic straws. Gotta GRAB MUH GUN:

08-02-2018 , 05:18 PM
Conservatives do that gift all the time. Last time it was incandescent light bulbs when they banned those in favor of LEDs. It does make a nice point that, like straws, a gun is a consumer product that an right to has been invented, and not some kind of abstract idea like self defense.

One of the sort of insane right-winger talking points you will see endlessly bandied about is how inconceivable it is for governments to regulate consumer products, like that is some impossible wish, both practically and statutorily impossible.

Remember when their opponents discuss the right to say, privacy, these cats pull out their Constitution and scan it for the literal word, like CTRL+F "0/0 ITEM NOT FOUND lollolol silly liberals you just made up a RIGHT, it's not in the Constitution."

But a city board prohibiting restaurants from plastic straw and POOF, MAH RIGHT TO THE STRAW magically appears out of thin air.

I mean I realize we're talking about brazen idiots here but you have to marvel these are the people who like carry around some reputation as law and order people with a strong devotion to the Constitution. Must be nice to just make up whatever **** you want on the spot, I'm a strong devotee to my fervent imaginative Constitution rattling around in my brain too.

My personal favorite was when they smashed their Kuerig machines to own the libs.

Seems like there's an entire cottage industry of young girls posing with AR-15s doing MAGA stuff on Twitter and Instagram. I assume they're all making a tidy little grift off of it.

I wonder how long you could be a border patrol agent while just giving water and free rides to migrants before they'd figure it out and fire you
08-02-2018 , 06:00 PM
Missed the cartoon discussion. They are just better in general/on average. Simpsons (up until it wasn't), South Park (some of the time), Bojack, Rick and Morty, Bob's Burgers, Archer and if you had kids to watch it with Avatar the Last Air Bender are/were all good.

there are lenses that are made to be worn for 30 days day and night. I used them for 10 years they were awesome. Definitely the way to go if you're going to be using contacts

FYP.

If you were smart about it, though, indefinitely...

Sucking on a plastic straw like an 8 year old to pwn the libs. The next battle in the war for guns, god and freedom: sippy cups.

Kaepernick's name edited out of a song in Madden

Quote:
The song, “Big Bank” by YG featuring 2 Chainz, Big Sean and Nicki Minaj, is one of several songs featured on “Madden 19.” In the song, Big Sean raps the following lyrics:

Feed me to the wolves now I lead the pack and s***
You boys all cap, I’m more Colin Kaepernick

In these words, Big Sean expresses his admiration for Kaepernick as someone who is focused on being true to himself instead of playing up his accomplishments, as explained by genius.com. Furthermore, Kaepernick connects back to the previous line. He led the Nevada Wolf Pack as the starting quarterback from 2007-2010. He holds program records for both passing touchdowns and rushing touchdowns.

ProFootballTalk confirmed that Kaepernick’s name was omitted in an advance copy of the game, just as all the other words deemed too profane for a game rated “E” for everyone.

If you haven't looked at that youtooz I posted above "On they Mexican together ****" do so. It's funny, but it's also a microcosm of everything that should and does freak out republicans about immigration and future voters. Too bad for them that's it's already too late.

LOL wow

When I worked at 2K, I was a bit surprised at how much editing of songs took place. Here are some examples from Matisyahu's "One Day" (bolded words = removed):

I thank God I'm breathing
There'll be no more war
Blood drenched pavement

But "Colin Kaepernick"? That is a new one.

Conservatives confirmed obsessed with this straw thing.

Mike Rowe is officially off my fanboy roster. Nice optics there with the cops chasing a little kid. Really shows you've got your priorities in order about what merits speaking out.
