One of the sort of insane right-winger talking points you will see endlessly bandied about is how inconceivable it is for governments to regulate consumer products, like that is some impossible wish, both practically and statutorily impossible.
Remember when their opponents discuss the right to say, privacy, these cats pull out their Constitution and scan it for the literal word, like CTRL+F "0/0 ITEM NOT FOUND lollolol silly liberals you just made up a RIGHT, it's not in the Constitution."
But a city board prohibiting restaurants from plastic straw and POOF, MAH RIGHT TO THE STRAW magically appears out of thin air.
I mean I realize we're talking about brazen idiots here but you have to marvel these are the people who like carry around some reputation as law and order people with a strong devotion to the Constitution. Must be nice to just make up whatever **** you want on the spot, I'm a strong devotee to my fervent imaginative Constitution rattling around in my brain too.
