Regardless, i will henceforth stop donating to my alma mater and instead direct the money towards my local community college. It is a minuscule amount but I hopr I can persuade others to follow suit.
Everything's more expensive now, getting the land in a desirable location to start a university from scratch seems like a waste of time when you can just write a check to your alma mater.

University founding hasn’t really stopped, it’s just that by the 20th century university founders realized that you don’t really need all those annoying students. So you have places like the IAS, IHES and Perimeter.

08-04-2018 , 01:58 AM
Back to 2016 when he won the MI primary?
08-04-2018 , 02:05 AM
He cost Hillary votes in the general. Don't have a problem with Bernie's politics but he isn't helping in this instance imo.
08-04-2018 , 02:14 AM
he endorsed hillary in the general. russian cyberattacks flooded social media in michigan with bull**** targeting bernie voters, but i don't know what else you want him to do besides endorse her and campaign for her which he did
08-04-2018 , 02:20 AM
Man, why is this ****ing article being reposted in Apple news feed tonight?

SA

All that's true, but there were still Bernie supporters that wouldn't vote Hillary. Anyway, do you think El-Sayed can win Gov. in Mi.
08-04-2018 , 02:37 AM
Would it have necessarily been better for Hillary of she were virtually unopposed for nomination? The whole feeling that it was her turn was not an attractive thing outside of the party faithful.

Yeah I know, I’m blaming their Jill stein votes on rusher

Abdul is an underdog but I don’t think Shri will win a close 3-way so I’m not worried about protecting Gretchen who I think would be great too. I think if there’s a progressive surge it’ll go to Abdul but I think he’d be a favorite if Shri dropped out which he suspiciously won’t, even though he’s gotten like zero endorsements and he’s campaigning on almost the exact same platform as Abdul

yeah, i kinda went off on this restaurant the other day (on the eastcoast) that wouldn't provide my father a straw at first. he is in a wheelchair, has parkinson's disease and definitely isnt gonna make taking a sip out of a water glass look pretty in a restaurant. eventually they said they did have straws but for kids. and i was like, why the hell are we still talking then? get him the straw.

my conservative law school buddy has made a straw joke almost every day.. confirmed they love bitching about the straw thing.

micro,

I think she would have gotten more votes, not necessarily enough to win the state though.

I just don't think Abdul can ever win Gov, but with Bernie and Alexandria behind him he might win the nomination.

You're from Mi?

ya

on the republican side, the front runner is literally named bill shooty lol what a ****in state. he’s AG, basically standard republican who proclaims his love for trump

lt gov is running as a moderate and playing down his administration poisoning all those kids

and this guy Colbeck is the far-right hillbilly candidate. At the debate he said Abdul is connected to the Muslim brotherhood

and he's using Trump lol
08-04-2018 , 03:06 AM
yeah Gretchen isn’t really saying ‘**** trump’ as much as the other two, I’m disappointed by that tbh. All the democrats running in dem primary in my local elections are explicitly running on “**** trump”

As we saw in 2016, running on a **** Trump platform is probably not the path to victory.
08-04-2018 , 07:43 AM
Especially given that they're running that platform in a state that Trump won.

It reminds me of the episode "Ed Good, Rocko Bad" from Rocko's Modern Life
