Speaking of the Marlins, anyone seen this $2.5M atrocity yet?

Lights up after Marlin HRs. How tilted would you be as an opposing pitcher?

I think that's the concept anyway.

Clearly the dude in Ghana and whoever in Malaysia would be a more efficient allocation of resources than this woman. Globalization at it's finest.

Its pretty ****ing tilting to me to see in video game format.

I can only imagine it IRL from the mound.

not to mention, stylistically, the depictions more closely resemble a swordfish than a marlin.

I used to think this was terrible, but it's actually unbelievably amazing.

you need to be shooting Canon not the later generation tech that Nikon bought from Canon. But That lens works on both FX&DX

Quote:
What's the crop factor going to be like on a DX body?
Multiply a lens' focal length by 1.5 and that will give you your focal length on a DX camera.

How does it perform in the low end of it's range sharpness wise?
you mean edge sharpness, pincushioning etc ? Not as good as a prime lens but totally usable for anything here is a good review. http://www.kenrockwell.com/nikon/14-24mm.htm

The bubble front looks kind of unwieldy, can I put filters on that?
No no front filters and no rear slot for filters either.

Since it's going to be a while before I upgrade to full frame would I be better off going with the $700 Tamrom lens for now?
Full frame is more important that anything especially since you are wanting ultra wide angle. Buy a camera first.

Most Tamrons are crap but the high end ones for the last few years have been as good or better than the Nikon lenses. Check Luminous Landscape or http://www.rickdenney.com/ for lens tests.

Also I'd like to find a $200 or so "driving around" tripod. Weight, balance, ease of setting up are very important to me.
Giottos is your goto brand if you don't allready have money invested in heads. And even if you do really and need the best lowest price set of sticks.

Quote:
How is Amazon going to help with that?
the reveiws may help but what you need is an expert like myself. I no longer work in camera sales because most shops self destructed by not competing. Most shops that you find will have commissioned salesmen that know less than they should and are steering you towards high markup high commission equipment.

I agree that it is awesome to have a good local provider but those days are gone unless you live in NYC or somewhere similar.

And maybe I need a new camera case. Oh yeah that's fun to buy online.
yeah that blows goats. But Thinktank is all you need to know. they are 100% the best of the best. Slightly more expensive but customer service and product quality far above the competition.

Thanks NeBils. Mostly those were hypotheticals since I already went through the process. I went with the Tamron which is kind of meh. But since I don't plan to replace my d-80 immediately it's a better lens for now.

I think I will get the D-3000 with my bonus next year. Our tour guide on the landscape photo tours I go on is specifically switching from Canon to Nikon for that camera - which supposedly legit doubles the number of pixels on full frame.. He says Nikon has basically won the battle for now.

Btw supposedly there is some company that makes custom filters for the Nikon 14-24. They have a cage apparatus that holds flat filters in place in front of the lens.

This is fairly funny, parents are revolting against MSP exams.

Mill Creek exists as a city because people wanted to write their own tax code (up until the last decade, it was basically a city built around a private golf course). Not so sure that's really the city's ethos.

It gives the candidate extra legal flexibility to decide what to do with any outstanding cash/liabilities.

It depends on what you mean by 'keep.' They can't pocket it. They could transfer it over to a PAC or something but that would probably be the last dollar the PAC collects once their hardcore supporters feel burned by the cash grab.

Pocket the extra donations imo.

I just made that up but it appeals to my cynical side.

When I go out camping for a couple weeks do you just sit around in a listless fog with no purpose or direction?
