Eichenwald wrote several of the top 50 reported nonfiction books of the last 20 years. He's also is a bit loopy, particularly on twitter. He's like an A+ reporter and C+ political commentator.

That ICE take is wicked hot. We had both Customs and Immigration agencies before the name got changed to ICE.

I'm fairly certain that if I crack open the DSM I won't find "making bad musical parodies" as a diagnostic criteria for any mental illness.

Nah, YouTube stars are pretty much 100% mental. They're like Disney Channel stars for the new generation.
04-04-2018 , 12:37 PM
I'd rather watch that than listen to Nicki Minaj.

Doesn't this encourage people to either stop working or do something to make themselves get fired? Unless there's some other segment in the contract that penalizes you for being fired, and if so, lol serfdom.

He hasn't been convicted of a crime, but they want him to work involuntarily. In the United States, or a place under US jurisdiction.

seems legit.

You could say the same thing about any professional athlete who signs a contract like this guy did, right?

(should make it clear that I'm 100% against signing people making $44k a year to indentured servitude contracts, but it seems like this is the system we have)

Jesse Jackson reflects 50 years after the assassination of MLK Jr.: "America loathes marchers but loves martyrs"

Quote:
As he sought to move beyond desegregation and the right to vote, to focus his work on economic justice, antimilitarism and human rights, the system pushed back hard. In the last months of his life, he was attacked by the government, the press, former allies and the military industrial complex. Even black Democrats turned their backs on him when he challenged the party’s support for the war in Vietnam.

A growing number of Americans had a negative view of Dr. King in the final years of his life, according to public opinion polls. A man of peace, he died violently. A man of love, he died hated by many.

No, when pro athletes quit they don't ever give back their cashed paychecks. That work was done. A NFL team has sued to recover a pro-rated share of a signing bonus when somebody gets arrested -- but that's something that was negotiated by the union. I don't think it happens in the NBA (where bonuses are capped).

I am pretty sure NFL players have been forced to give back pro-rated signing bonuses when the retired early

Apparently a one bedroom flat consumes 36 units per day (however much that is, I don't know but it sounds like a lot. I assume one unit is one KwH). All I know is that I've been billed £270 per month for the last 4 months. Despite the fact that I wasn't in Scotland for December and shut my power off for my entire flat, they have my power consumption the same as November.

Given that my previous bill was £222 for 3+ months, I doubt that this is an accurate representation of the power I consumed.

Even crazier is that I can't see the electronic bill because they have me listed as changing to a different power supplier even though I never did. So I have limited access to my account.

****ing Scottish Power. They're the Comcast of Scotland when it comes to customer service.

Another write-in vote this month:

Trump hires famed trial lawyer Ben Matlock, who graciously joins the staff. 18 days later he is informed that Matlock is a fictional character and the actor who portrayed him, Andy Griffith, has been dead since 2012. Two months later, whoever it is that's been sitting in on defense strategy meetings is asked to leave.

Onion!
04-04-2018 , 06:51 PM
I rarely go to the post office, but if there is a picture of trump to look at while I’m standing in a 30 minute line to complete a 30 second transaction I might stroke out.
04-04-2018 , 06:52 PM
Advanced Real or Onion is whether Andy Griffith played Matlock.
04-04-2018 , 07:10 PM
People go to post offices? That's like watching people going in a bank.

Check out the FoxNews video short "Pruitt Fights Back". Looks like he's be greenlighted by Trump.

Unless Foxnews is turning on t?rump. I've noticed several stories with tough questioning of administration figures lately, and new anchors who seem to have a ...... BACKBONE.

Remember when Fox turned on BUSH
