1. Many mods are upset and whoknows what will happen. I suppose some mods (ahem) and politics regs will cut back their participation in this forum and throughout 2+2.

2. You can probably add tomd to the list, though he can/does speak for himself around here (and demodded himself long before the current snafus).

3. It is not "essentially" trolling. It is out and out trolling. Blatant and open trolling. Besides the obvious joy it brings, I do not discount the possibility that it is an avenue that leads to shutting down this forum in the near future.

It is sad that not only are moderators on the site taken for granted but they can’t even be treated with respect by management. It is literally the bare minimum they can do, but they don’t just refuse to treat their moderators with respect and consideration, they treat them with open disdain.

this is my go to shut down argument with all my conservative friends. it gets them mega flustered. they either answer with supreme court cases that were decided by conservative justices or just say "family values" or right now.

my super catholic friend believes that society would literally fall to incest and bestiality without the morality of the bible being strongly held.

In fairness, there are many Catholics that seem to turn to the bible to keep them from molesting children as evidenced by the failures that come to light. Maybe some think it is the answer to those other compulsions, also? Perhaps your friend is one of those.

"Whore" is sexist language, and while there was some extremely meager pushback to it before I came in myself, there were many more '+1' and 'this guy gets it's. The mods saw the sexist language. Nobody was penalized for it.

Somebody explain to me why racist, homophobic, islamophobic, antisemitic, transphobic, and hate language are all banned, but overt sexist language like calling a woman a "spoiled whore" and wishing her misery for it is totally fine re forum rules.

Maybe it wasn't jarring for you all to read someone post a really vile sexist post calling the first lady a gold digging whore, but it was super jarring for me. Its an unnecessary and painful throwback to all the times sexist language has been used against myself, my friends, all women. I doubt many of you have been called sluts, or whores, or golddiggers in the way women have. It hurts.

This argument, for me, has nothing really to do with Melania Trump. I don't have anything poitive to say about her. This argument is about YOU all and how you're using this sexist language, and how angry it makes me that you see some sort of difference between it and other harmful language in that the f-word and the n-word etc are censored and would be punished, but calling women whores isn't.

AND if I flip out over that language, that hurts me, I'll be banned but not the person who used it.

Don't just all agree to not use the word here. Ban sexist language from this forum. Add "whore" to the censored list, and treat women with the same respect and sensitivity and protection that you're currently giving every other group here.
