Trump was the 2nd worse candidate in history. He was handpicked and groomed by the left (the Clinton campaign and the DNC, but I repeat myself) and its PR wing, the media, to be the world candidate in history. But they clearly miscalculated how truly awful Hillary was.

I think it's more just that infrastructure dollars are extremely scarce and in high demand, and toll roads are one of the few taxes you can levy on wealthier people without them throwing a fit.

Relatedly, because #HousingSegregationInEverything, I think the more local you get politically, the less Republican vs Democrat is the relevant dichotomy and the more naked white vs black/hispanic becomes.

These are my favorite comments. Like replacement-level democrat/GOP voters are super erudite.

So this dude is sitting on the hill, taking in the full extent of the world in all its richness, and observes that Trump is merely 2nd worst? How bizarre, I can only see a bunch of individual trees.

Just like with that, it got old and boring.

An anology I use is that arguing with statists is like arguing over a pointilist painting. The statist is arguing over individual dots, of which there are 10s of thousands, each a long dragged out argument, and I'm simply not a good enough or patient enough communicator to get someone to back up and look at the whole picture (with a few rare exceptions, e.g. tomcollins). I just don't want to argue about the dots anymore. I see the picture. It's perfectly clear. That's good enough for me. I'd rather spend all that free time I used to waste posting here with my wife and kids, playing music, recording and mixing, etc. I developed an anxiety disorder a couple of years ago, and arguing on the internet is not conducive to stress reduction.

I wish peace and prosperity for all of you.
Partly this - I'm still an ACist, but I disappeared from this forum because I started dating an amazing woman and spend my time with her instead of having pointless arguments on the internet.

Also, there was a change in this forum where certain groups just started calling any group that disagrees with them a racist - not really an interesting conversation to have. Or, they assume the worst about the person they are talking to ("well of course you believe that because you hate the poor"). Boring.

Taso throwing shade up in here.

I just want to point out that I too have started dating an amazing woman. I am also very tall.

Just want to point out that while I don't feel great about it, Taso's "I was an angry internet libertarian before I started having sex with women" trope does nothing to disabuse me of the notion angry internet libertarianism is the hobby horse of Apsie male shut ins.

I think it was meant as a humble brag but nothing could surprise me less than "I had pedantic arguments all day with other internet half wits, now I get laid, so I don't anymore." Exactly bro. Exactly.

Nice!

Ummm, any forum posting is probably a good indication of that. When I tell friends I used to post on a forum, I get some weird looks. We're a weird group, forum posters are.

Very weird. Whenever I tell my friends that I used to post on an internet forum, they just gaze at me lovingly and remark on my good skin and lustrous hair.

Behold the changing forest! Every tree, a new tyranny. The castle and serf replace the slaver. Old growth five-year-plans give way to the FDA and FTC. Each species' success reflects the human predilection to centralize power and authority. But lo, we can see from on high, a new shade of green spreads across the valley. Yonder comes the free commercial enterprise! The vaunted view is affirmed! But then, a closer look, an examination of an individual specimen, and the private corporation reveals that -- it, also, is a tree.

How ya doing BD? Kids?

Can't complain but sometimes I still do. Good job. Bad back. 2 boys, one my mini me, one my wife's. They are awesome yet sometimes maddening. Anxiety disorder, but I covered that before.

On another note:

Does anyone know where you can play full ring limit games online these days? I still hate no limit.
03-21-2017 , 04:43 PM
Full ring limit? Dead game imho.
03-21-2017 , 04:45 PM
Yeah that's what it looks like.
03-21-2017 , 04:46 PM
6 max limit will do, too.

If you're in New Jersey you can play on Stars. If you're in Nevada you can play on WSOP.

If you're an American looking to play on sites that accept American customers:

Ignition Casino (formerly Bovada, formerly Bodog)
Winning Poker Network (e.g., America's Cardroom)
Chico Poker Network

These networks/sites will only accept players from some states, not all (e.g., if you're in Washington state, you can't play anywhere AFAIK). The quality of games, volume of players, deposit and cash-out options are variable.

One of my proudest achievements was having hated by Borodog as my Loc and yet being mistaken as an ACist on the regular.

Should work for the Russians.

There is a compromise which I have alluded to before. Try to put a numerical value to various emotional arguments. If people tend to agree with your value you can plug it back into an equation. I will elaborate if anybody is interested.

Still you don't need the astuteness or ability of to read between the lines of Fly or Clovis, to realize that this means you wanted Trump to win.

I'm not sure if you're joking, David. I wanted neither to win. Of the two, Hillary seemed clearly worse, though. And it was not even close. How much worse must Hillary be, given that her machinations pushed Donald ****ing Trump to the brink of the presidency in an ill-conceived gambit to scare the country into electing her? How delicious was her loss to an orange faced reality TV buffoon that her own side positioned. I'm only saddened that the price of admission was that Trump had to win.

Borodog - do you still believe that Hillary was worse than Trump? Can you please explain me why? Was Obama was worse than Trump?
