I hope so, and I hope that's exactly what happens every time here on out. I'd have to begrudgingly give Mattis / Trump / whoever some props.
I remember the US running practice drills for missile interception about a month ago I think. Not sure if they were part of the joint military drills we conducted with South Korea.
It would definitely be interesting to know if the strike group has
orders like that, and if they are posed to intercept
anything that NK launches.
Also, according to what the State has been saying in those articles from the OP, it seems like North Korea is already framing the US as the "bad guy invasion party", in case they want to strike first and claim self defense to the rest of the world...or play victim if we make the first move.
