So yeah, stefan, if that's the plan I think the power players are gonna be quite upset to discover that Moore isn't going to be a malleable pawn. He's going to make Ted Cruz look like a good party soldier.

I think the [GOP] power players already know that Moore is not going to be a malleable pawn. The big problem with Roy Moore is that he actually believes all his theocratic BS. (If Moore thought he could get away with it, he would erect a Ten Commandments monument in the rotunda of the Capitol and dare the Supreme Court to order that it be removed.) There are numerous other idiotic antics that we can count on from a "Senator Moore".
Being the self respecting "librul" that I am, I'm not giving up hope that Doug Jones will come out on top next Tuesday. (I will be voting for Jones. I hope a majority of my fellow Alabamians are planning likewise.) This may be more "wishful thinking" than cold hard reality, but I have a feeling this election is closer than people generally believe - and the polls are indicating. Thanks to all the underage "sex stuff" about Moore, this election is getting a lot of attention. I have a feeling all this attention is going to drive a large voter turnout. Hopefully, a large turnout will work more in Doug Jones favor than Roy Moore's favor. I also believe a certain percentage of Republicans, (let's say maybe 1-in-5), are going to cross over and vote for Doug Jones. Plus, the write-in candidate, Colonel Busby, may pull a small fraction of votes from Moore - maybe 1-2 percent of the total votes cast. I have a feeling more women voters will vote for Doug Jones than those who will vote for Roy Moore. Add all these factors up, and I believe (I hope) all this will add up to a Doug Jones victory.
Looking at this election from a purely [national] win/loss perspective, it will be better [long term] for the GOP if Moore loses. If he wins, every stupid bonehead thing he says (and does) will only serve to further drag the GOP down in 2018 and 2020. The only reason both Trump and Mitch McConnell have reversed course and decided to wholeheartedly back Moore is because they desperately want his vote on tax reform. (It would be hilarious if Moore gets in and decides to stuff it up Trump and McConnell's a** by voting against [so called] tax reform.)
