It's hopeful that he won in 2012 by just a couple of points (Romney won the state by 22 points)

The inference is that the people of Alabama are clowns, but there's plenty of other external evidence for that.

Roy Moore, the controversial Republican senate candidate in Alabama, accepted a $1,000 donation from Nazi supporter Willis Carto’s organization, according to reports.

Carto was a famous Holocaust denier who received a Purple Heart during World War II only to later say he regretted fighting for the U.S. since he considered Hitler’s fall the demise of Europe and America.
wew lad no wonder the Repubs spent 30 mill in the primary trying to defeat this guy.

Charity’s promised back pay to Roy Moore was not reported to IRS as income
The Alabama charity once led by Senate candidate Roy Moore did not report to the Internal Revenue Service that in 2011 it guaranteed him $498,000 in back pay, according to an income report provided to The Washington Post by the charity itself.

Five tax law and accounting specialists said it appears the guaranteed payment should have been reported as compensation, a disclosure that would have triggered a federal tax bill of more than $100,000.

Moore and his campaign have not responded to questions about whether he paid the taxes, or to requests that he release his income tax returns.

It's almost mind boggling how openly corrupt you can be in 2017.

Is Doug Jones Really Tied With Roy Moore?

Alabama Republican Senate nominee Roy Moore said he believes a Supreme Court ruling allowing loving adults to marry is worse than the court’s 1857 decision that upheld slavery.

In a 2016 podcast interview surfaced by Talking Points Memo on Tuesday, Moore said the Supreme Court’s Dred Scott decision ― which held that black people were property and could not be citizens ― was a better ruling than the 2015 Supreme Court case allowing gay marriage nationwide. Scholars regard the Dred Scott decision as one of the Supreme Court’s worst.

Just listened to Doug Jones on Pod Save America. Pathetic. We deserve to lose. Dude comes across as an incredibly milquetoast centrist, makes Jon Ossoff sound like Bernie Sanders. It was hilarious when the hosts framed a question as "Hillary Clinton lost by 30 points in 2016 in Alabama, what will you do differently?" and my man Jones leads with how he's gonna, no joke, "work across the aisle" and bring bipartisanship back to Washington. Unity, both sides "having a conversation." That was his main talking point to be repeated several times. You know, EXACTLY THE SAME **** Hilllary Clinton lost horribly with.

A prediction for 2020: The right wing will demand that we nuke Mexico in response to the murder of a white woman by an American citizen of Mexican descent. The median Democrat, smartguy centrist position will be that instead we merely build a wall and have Mexico pay for it.

Dude, he’s a D trying to win in Alabama.

He’s not gonna be a Bernie Sanders.

What do you expect?

I should stress here for our non-pod-savvy posters that Pod Save America is a left Democrat podcast which is listened to exclusively by politically engaged Democrat voters. Their guys go on right wing radio and lay out how Nancy Pelosi personally ordered the hit on Seth Rich, and our guy can't appear on an all-Democrat podcast and say one ****ing bad thing about Roy ****ing Moore. His biggest critique of Moore was that he was too principled and unwilling to compromise. JFC.

I expect him to stand for something - ANYTHING at all - and stop being a pussy, trying to replay the failed Clinton strategy of hoping your opponent offends people enough that they vote for you just to stop him. Alabama is a **** hole, one of the worst states in the country under a number of metrics. The Democratic candidate for Senate should have a message of improving these people's lives, not talking about reaching across the aisle, presumably to give the nearest Republican a handjob.

Birmingham, the largest city in Alabama, just elected this guy mayor.

Quote:
But populist challenger Randall Woodfin, a 36-year-old former board of education president endorsed by the Bernie Sanders-backed campaign group Our Revolution, topped Bell in the first round of voting in August. On Tuesday night, Woodfin finished the job in the runoff, stunning Alabama and winning the mayor’s race comfortably — Woodfin defeated Bell with 58 percent of the vote.

You're clearly young. The Democrats have been doing this since 1980.

When is the optimal time for a story like this to break? Is there enough time to get Strange on the ticket? Write ins?

edit

Still time for Sessions or Strange to win as a write in. And if there aren't more recent stories Moore might only drop a point or two.
