Dude going to war that results in hundreds of thousands if not millions (of brown people) dead for political reasons is totally fine. It is killing a few hundreds (of white people) for religious reasons that is truly scary.

That basically means 25% of the Muslim residents in Britain would support a law which outlawed homosexuality and hung anyone who practiced it. Is that cool to you, or nah?

Let's assume that bolded part is true even though it's not. Didn't Britain just decriminalize homosexuality like a few weeks ago?

Root and branch, the religion is very, shall we say, problematic. And yes, sure, other religions are also problematic, and there are probably many who practice those religions in violent or repressive ways, but they pale in comparison to the sweeping human rights problems and cultural attitudes within Muslim majority countries and in Muslim minority communities across the globe. It's a ****ing catastrophe, and growing worse, not getting better. One need only look at the electoral victories of religious conservatives in southeast Asia and Africa.

I mean Jesus ****ing Christ the Christian West just started flying its rainbow flag like 5 days ago and stupid bigots like you are going to run the point into the ground.

No one polls these questions, but I'd wager at least 5% of Republicans poll in favor of executing illegal immigrants, and perhaps a majority would be in favor of a preemptive nuclear strike on North Korea, i.e. mass murder of civilians. Granted, there is a difference in lethalness levels of random self-identified Muslim American (or Briton or Spaniard) versus random self-identified conservative American, but it's like one order of magnitude at most. Hard to believe that if the Oath Keepers stepped up their game a bit, the President would be pushing for a conservative ban until we figure out what the hell is going on.

Terrorists kill at least 46 people, probably many more in hotel bombing in Yemen. The hotel is primarily used by agricultural workers. The terorists used the common and deadly tactic of releasing explosives from airplanes. I don't think this was a lone actor. It has all the hallmarks of a well organized international terrorist organization.

I dont think you will get any arguments from either side on that characterization of the Saudi Government.

Something going on in Charleston... not like a terrorist but a shooter of some kind

Are we sure it was Saudis who commited the terror act? Other nationals were quite likely involved in one way or another and I mean directly involved in this specific act.
08-24-2017 , 02:44 PM
Most likely sure. The motivation is to support the Gulf State government and not because those other nations has any beef with Yemen.

Seems like there is a beef. One side in Yemen is Western leaning and the rebels lean towards Iran. Imo the non-Saudi parties to the bombing would be taking sides here regardless of the Saudi position. (Even if not, that's doesn't mean that all involved are not terrorists)

I guess i dont understand what point you are trying to make.

Even if you ask domer, i would guess that he does not support bombing campaigns in Yemen.

I'm posting about recent terrorist attacks. My point is that this counts as one imo.

If by 'a few weeks ago' you mean relative to the length of human occupancy of the planet then I guess you're right.

Otherwise it would be 50 years ago, the anniversary of which you may be confusing with the actual event.

Yeah. 6ix should have gone with the US. Maybe domer is from one of the states where homosexuality is still illegal.

Louisiana, Alabama, Florida, Idaho, Kansas, Michigan, Mississippi, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Texas and Utah.

Homsexuality is not illegal in any state. Embarrassingly, this has only been true since 2003, but still.

Yeah, in 2003 anti-sodomy laws were ruled unconstitutional. Those are the states that still have the laws on the books though.

We served a tour together in Pv8.8, you know I obviously meant the bolded first sentence.

I guess the anniversary muddies it a bit but that was a happy accident.

And also obviously, this isn't a swipe at Britain. That was merely the example domer used but you can substitute any Western country. They're all going to be a few days relative to the human occupancy of the planet.

p.s. You should've scrolled one post down.

Yeah, it's a goddamned joke that the domers of the world not only include the homosexuality thing but lead with it like it's their trump card, pun very much intended.

Actually, using domer as an example of the generic stupid bigot probably isn't accurate because he's by far smart enough to know better. That's probably worse but a separate topic.

The US has a VP that by all accounts would be happy to turn the country into The Handmaid's Tale and these dudes have the audacity to talk about OMGSharia Law (and this is granting them the point that Sharia Law has something to do with Throwing Gays Off Rooftops{TM} which is ridiculous to begin with) as if the middle east isn't what happens when you let the Pences and other assorted lunatics run the asylum. It's a stupidity that is viscerally offensive.

Just making sure...you know old Blighty has taken a lot of deserved stick for its treatment of minorities back then, but as Uncle Lou once sang, those were different times.

It was fun watching the Neos blow up their own playground and take down the cheztapo with them. Normal service has been restored (for the time being).

This must be because of Trump. He didn't condemn the last attack. Does he now?

He will probably not understand driving against people blocking the road is wrong. There you have his values in a nutshell.

No. 'Management' became justifiably embarrassed by the juxtaposition of racist diatribes and advertising (obviously a major income stream).

No link no credibility - Breitbart/Stormfront/4chan assumed from the 2+2 head Sandy Hook 'truther'.

And stop calling me kid - I'm probably in the same age bracket as you.

Terrorist decided to take a knife to a gunfight in Brussels, it did not end well for him.

Because I know more about it than you do. And in terms of murders in the Western world, the US Second Amendment is far deadlier than Islamism.

No, it was in 1967 in England and Wales.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sexual_Offences_Act_1967

Parity on the age of consent (16) came about in 2000.
