I was curious which political type I was so I took a brief quiz this morning. It was pretty hard because the answers were black and white and at times I didn't want to answer the question. But Pew is a respected name in the game and it compares you to 5000 people in America.

I'm a Core Conservative. Which on their little graph means I'm a little to the right of middle of the road.

Solid Liberal.

But man, it's sad to see that in order to be a "Core Conservative" on that survey, many of your "views" need to essentially be outright falsehoods.

Falsehoods? Like what?

Also, I would love it if you guys could copy and paste the decrription of your typology. I forgot to do mine.

Let's start with the very first question I got:

"The government today can't afford to do much more to help the needy"

Outright falsehood.

"I would love it if you guys would do what I can't or won't do myself."

Not trolling tho.

“Poor people today have it easy because they can get government benefits without doing anything in return”

“Immigrants today are a burden on our country because they take our jobs, housing and health care” (literally, “DEY TERK ER JERBZ!!!”)

“Blacks who can't get ahead in this country are mostly responsible for their own condition”

“Our country has made the changes needed to give blacks equal rights with whites”

“The obstacles that once made it harder for women than men to get ahead are now largely gone”

“Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy” (versus “Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost”)

And my personal favourite...

“Most people who want to get ahead can make it if they're willing to work hard” (versus “Hard work and determination are no guarantee of success for most people”)

"Governments should discourage homosexuality"

Pure prejudice is an indicator for one side

And compare it to the alternative they list, "The government should do more to help needy Americans, even if it means going deeper into debt."

That's a false choice, we don't need to go deeper into debt for that - conservatives literally just gave billions and billions of dollars to the already super-rich that don't need it!

If you don't know actual facts and numbers, the way this question is framed can lead you to pick a bad choice, based on false information and false choices given.

Conservatives today are basically allergic to facts.
