most folks seem to enjoy their high six figure lobbying jobs, so sure.

Crowley is apparently one of the poorest (relatively) people in congress. Net worth only 6 figs.

Trump appears to have forgotten what primary elections are lol

The issue with AOC and Trump, and no media has really gotten into this, but... she's hot. I don't know if he'll be able to tamp down his horniness to call her dumb. So when she fires back he's gonna be all sorts of confused, because, again, he forgot that it's a primary.

No way this is legit.

I'm projecting a rather drastic increase in his fortunes

Quite possibly the worst take I’ve ever seen and from a major figure in NYC politics.

don't worry, he'll still be in Washington DC. Doubt he's about to move back to Queens.

Williams was featured in The Intercept earlier this year as being the candidate who had lost her previous race by a lot (she lost her own neighborhood in her race for mayor) and who the DCCC swooped in to support even over the objection of local Democrat party. She also got the Emily List approval in spite of proudly being anti abortion

Jealous was shunned by the Clinton campaign for going to Bernie's side in 2016 which is what this email is referring to. It's MD so he's got a good chance of becoming the next governor but the Republican incumbent is actually extremely popular so it's not as good of a chance as you might think. Like not even a favorite.

Oklahoma passes medical marijuana. Gonna be funny when it's legal in all 50 states and Sessions is running around arresting people.

Holy ****ing ****, Ocasio-Cortez! I don't necessarily agree with her on 100% of her policy positions, but I agree on the most important ones for me and it's just a huge win for grassroots progressive campaigns and putting people over money. Her story is incredible.

We'll probably be spending some time in the coming weeks discussing what this means for the Democratic party going forward, but I think it's all good things.

Can't wait until the Dem consultants take away from this that Dems need more viral videos and better looking candidates.

Remember back in the day when people like Fly were screaming at me for suggesting fighting dirty wasnt the answer? Good times. People like Ocasio-Cortez running for office and getting voters to vote is how we win, not fighting dirty.

Not the worst result, as those things probably helped.

AOC was on TYT after her victory, and she said that her campaign identified her win number and knocked on enough doors and texted and confirmed with enough people to basically have already locked up the win before any votes were cast. That is a pretty sick strategy in a low turnout election. Obviously it takes a huge effort, but AOC has been at it for over a year. She earned this. Crowley taking it in stride and emphasizing the importance of unity against this disgusting pos Trump makes the victory even better.

I haven't researched all of her positions, but I did read over her platform sheet. I am in agreement with every single one of her points. It reads like a progressive 'how to win' plan. Hopefully there will be many more stories like hers. We may never get a Bernie Sanders presidency, but he has left a lasting positive mark and a blueprint on how to move the country forward for the benefit of everyone.

Holy cow that is amazeballs. I wouldn't want to put the cart before the horse, but she has as good a chance as anyone to be the future face of the party. Props to Crowley for the way he handled it.

this is a really, really bad take.

the conditions and system in which we are voting matter too. they matter quite a lot actually.

everyone already agrees we should be turning out voters as much as possible. that's only one part of the equation, not the whole game. as an obvious example, running up the score in california didn't make one iota of difference for hillary because of the system.

republicans keep pushing and pushing on norms in order to tilt the system in their favor. gerrymandering, removing voting rights, etc. and democrats like you respond by saying well gee golly guess we'll just have to win by 5% more than them to win this time... and then gee golly guess we'll just need to win by 8% to win this time... gee golly guess we'll just need to win by 12% to win this time.

you can work to get out the vote and also fight back to level the playing field at the same time.
