2018 Primaries - Get Ridda Da Bums! 2018 Primaries - Get Ridda Da Bums!

Are dems not spending a ton in NV? Maybe they consider it an easy win? Which seems... presumptuous.

I dunno - it may be that the style of the commercials is a choice - less polished "real" everyday joes and janes that you're supposed to be able to relate to.

A few months ago Heller was WAY ahead in terms of his campaign chest, but that may have changed. The Rosen ads are running much more frequently than his, at least in N. Nev.

You just said the trigger words necessary for Ins.o0 to show up with a "so glad you asked, it's because we rejected the creeping socialism Dems bring to the table, definitely nothing to do with our voter suppression efforts paying off"

Evenso, WTF white Christian people in Wisconsin? (yeah, Christians - Jews and atheists and especially atheist Jews didn't do this.)

Big day tomorrow:

- OH-12 special election
- MI gov primary (go El-Sayed!)
- KS gov primary (will Kobach win, unseating the incumbent who replaced Brownback?)
- MO Proposition A: basically putting a right-to-work law in front of voters (so, root for "No")

I’m not sure what to do about the governor’s race here in AZ. Incumbent is a pretty standard republican, I don’t think he’s terrible in light of largely ignoring Trumpism (except for calling in the National Guard to “secure the border”) but of course a Democrat would be better. There are two candidates airing ads: one seems like your typical competent, experienced white male who is most likely closer to a moderate (he’s already talking about lowering taxes ffs) and plays up that he’s unexciting but knows what he is doing; the other a young, good looking, progressive Hispanic ex-teacher running with the slogan “Just Imagine” with a focus on improving schools.

The lesson from 2016 would be to go with the more charismatic candidate but Arizona isn’t necessarily reflective of the nation as a whole. Will García turn out the Hispanic and young vote or will he just turn off people like my in-laws? They’re already running attack ads against him for saying he wants to abolish ICE (of course he has no power to do that as a governor...) Should be interesting.

Doubtful, Hillary had outs to be the best president ever in terms of decision making (her hands would have been tied with the GOP house and Senate though)

Gretchen Whitmer, with her MI accent, was just on MSNBC talking about how they don't like outsiders in Michigan. She'd probably explain that she was referring to (((Bernie Sanders))), but Abdul El-Sayed is a bit of an outsider as well.

I assume Dearnborn and Detroit don’t count as the “real Michigan” in her universe.

who's got the leaked exit polls
08-07-2018 , 05:32 PM
God, I don't want to get my hopes up for this, but if it is an outright win then the GOP Congress and Trump are straight done. He'd have meltdown over the next week.

Ugh, more vague "good news". Feeling like Nov. 2016.

When I voted this morning, I stereotyped the few other people in line as likely Balderson voters. There's been an afternoon shower in Central OH, but it's passed now.

That's some real reporting on the ground.

It seems like O'Connor has to thread a needle to get the votes he needs.
08-07-2018 , 06:50 PM
Who cares imo. O'Connor sucks and his seat lasts a few months. He's a bland Ossoff type running in a rich district similar to Georgia 6. It would be amusing to watch Trump lose face again, but the race is not an important indicator of anything. The only bad sign would be if he loses by like 20 points.

Also gtfo my primary thread with this general election.

Most nervous about Brent Welder in KS-3. He's facing a late challenger who got showered in money by establishment groups, with Emily's List dropping like half a million last month. Idk what their deal is, why they hate the Bernie wing so much.

Nate Cohn was kind enough to provide us with this for the first batch of Franklin County early votes which is 80% (of 13,000) O'Connor:
