Please. He's just gonna go back to supporting insurgent Republicans to make more money.

Probably, but if he does legal weed, I don't think he can undo it. If Nixon gets him to make some basically irrevocable policy decisions, then I consider it a mission accomplished for her primary challenge, even if as I expect she gets trounced in the vote.

Nah. Nothing is going to get done on it before the election and he can easily change back after. Don’t think she is a serious enough challenger to actually get Cuomo to do anything he would t have otherwise.

Nixon is more progressive than Bernie, it seems:

terrible
06-24-2018 , 11:43 AM
Bernie is some combo of not that progressive on some things and/or dissembling to avoid alienating some people. But, in the same way Trumpkins don't get to say Obama was the real Deporter in Chief, no one (not meaning you champ - I'm preempting Dessin's post) who supported HRC or whines about purity testing gets to lol-Bernie here.

And again, Bernie has a record. He voted against the creation of ICE.

I don't understand this then. There's very little downside to wanting to abolish ICE. His bull**** positions on guns I at least understand politically, given how pro-gun Vermont is, but this ICE position doesn't make any sense.

That makes sense. Not much money/votes/competence on his left.

Cynthia Nixon just tearing it up. gogogogo

Hating cops is not as popular as this forum makes it seem. Virtually regardless of what they do, the vast majority of the Dems don't want to see shade thrown on the heroes of law enforcement.

Bootlickers will refer to supporting ICE as "competence".

Some moderately interesting primaries Tuesday. Familiar with some of the NY ones. Competitive primary to Find out who takes on asswipe Peter King and the 14th should have been interesting in a tea party style progressive wave scenario with an establishment dem incumbent vs progressive challenger but apparently won’t be too close.
06-26-2018 , 11:40 AM
My district is the 1st District. A few good candidates it seems (to take on asswipe Lee Zeldin). Zeldin is a lot more beatable than King I'd think. Looks like Perry Gershon is going to win the primary. Has raised the most money and is the only one really advertising. Doesnt seem very charismatic but is saying enough of the right things. Not optimistic there will be much turnout today.
06-26-2018 , 11:49 AM
Yeah. I can’t imagine turnout in NY being all that high without governors race at the top of the ticket.

rooting for Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez because she's pretty cute and Joe Crowley looks like a human thumb

06-26-2018 , 06:52 PM
If shes within 10% I'd be shocked. Crowley is next in line to be Speaker and runs the Democratic Party in Queens and is as corrupt as you could imagine.
06-26-2018 , 06:55 PM
right but she's totally ****able. Very rare quality in a congressperson

And you never know, could be like that Republican primary in VA a few years back. Would be hilarious.
06-26-2018 , 07:00 PM
Sure, but then you get people swooning over Tulsi Gabbard even though her politics are questionable (good for Ocasio that hers aren't)
06-26-2018 , 07:35 PM
What do her looks have to do with anything?
06-26-2018 , 08:52 PM
Voted at the last minute and was only the 108th person.

I know it's only a primary but my goodness that's pathetic.
06-26-2018 , 09:11 PM
awwww yeah, AOC is up 30 votes with, uh, 900 votes in

06-26-2018 , 09:19 PM
Holy ****. She's winning by 16 with 51% reporting. Gogogogogogo
06-26-2018 , 09:20 PM
Wow Crowley down by 15 percent with half the votes in. Get bent maybe the Dems will learn something from this . I don’t care if you put manchin and Mccaskill up in pos states like mine but in liberal areas there is no excuse for centrist bull****

That would be some very good direction if she won. Women are crushing this democratic field so far this year.
