Beto's smart. He's using Trump's favorite tactic - say something the media will hopefully amplify that will piss off your political enemies but energize the base.

What's up with the lighting for Beto's speech?

This could have been a big moment on the national stage for Beto. He doesn't look remotely Presidential in this speech (and now sounds even less Presidential).

Beto isn't a 2018 version of Obama2004.
