I can’t fathom having billions of dollars—more money than nearly anyone in the history of civilization had been able to accumulate, enough money that my family would not have to work for several generations, at least—and, yet my primary concern is to force politicians to slash the safety net for millions of people, **** over people who pursue higher education, undermine important institutions, strip health insurance from millions of people do whatever it takes just to accumulate a little more money, relatatively speaking. What sad, despicable humans. The donors pushing this stuff need to be punished.

I thought the parliamentarian nixed the drilling yesterday

the tl;dr: voters have absolutely refused to believe politicians would actually do huge tax cuts for the rich on THREE separate occasions in the past 20 years
Good thread, though I do think some people are starting to wise up. Hopefully enough people to make a difference.

Yeah, somehow the GOP have managed to make these tax cuts more unpopular than past tax INCREASES:

People aren't fooled by Trump's lies, they just play along with them when it achieves the goals they want anyway, i.e. racism/xenophobia/misogyny for the base and tax cuts for the rich for the donor class.

Corker is a no but doesn't matter because Collins is going to **** the bed and vote yes
12-01-2017 , 06:29 PM
So is this the bill that's going to make filing my tax return as easy as filling out the back of a post card?
12-01-2017 , 06:54 PM
corker is a no

Unsurprising that this would pass. This was what they were elected to do. The Dems were elected to give healthcare. The Reps were elected to give tax breaks to the rich.

What I dont get is why people dont just literally storm their mansions and murder them and their families. There's not really that many of these guys out there and its completely insane that the billions of people they **** over even remotely tolerate it.

To some extent, this is what happened in Venezuela. Income inequality became so bad that Chavez won elections simply by pledging to make the lives of rich people just as crappy as the lives of poor people.

It's funny because a lot of US media reports are focused on how bad the situation in the country is right now, but what they fail to understand is that, for the vast majority of the population, their lives haven't fundamentally changed.

It's Friday, everybody is paying attention to the Flynn thing, Trump's future is uncertain, gotta jam this thing through ASAP before the wheels come off.

Votes are whipped and McConnell doesnt want to risk anyone on the brink to find out what is in the bill or how unpopular it is.
12-01-2017 , 09:14 PM
Plus who gets indicted next? Gotta get that sucker signed before all the truth comes out.
