Got two- and three-teamers for the following numbers

TEN +8.5
TB +8.5
KC +8
DAL +8.5
JAX +8.5
CHI +9

Dallas has since moved out of range, but moved favorably for me, so that's good.

I hate the Steelers with such a fiery passion. It's so unfair that they are about to be 3-0 without Roethlisberger, and so unfair that they are going to bankrupt me.

Raiders? Isn't this a Wong teasers thread? You don't have a single proper Wong teaser in this.

Did you fail 3rd grade?

OK, I've got an awful feeling about JAX +8.5. Anybody have an idea how to hedge out of it? I have 6.5 units riding on that leg of my teasers.

Second half lines:

PHI +0.5 (-130), -110 ML
JAX -0.5 (+110), -110 ML

Help.

Do you know what a proper Wong teaser is? It's two or more teams, teased together, that both/all cross the 3 and 7.

Thinking you failed reading comprehension.

I don't expect you to admit being wrong tho. It's really not your strong suit.

Poking fun at others tho, now THAT is your strong suit.

Except when you're wrong.

Like this time.

There is a lot of fail in this thread, coming from all different directions.

actually doesn't it say something like the two teasers need to cover at a certain % to be profitable. like if its +100 the teasers n eed to cover > 50% of the time, -110 52.38 or whatever

there's situations where its profitable and at least one team doesn't cross both the 3 and 7

Right, but a Wong teaser proper is one that crosses the 3 and 7. A teaser just being profitable doesn't make it a Wong teaser. Games that get off the three or 7 are considered half-wongs.

yea i'm pretty sure what you're saying isn't in sharp sports betting and was just made up after the fact by random people on the internet and doesn't really apply

wong teaser = basic strategy teaser = if its profitable bet it = common sense

i think what happened was people didn't really understand what wong was saying in ssb

got translated to just tease through 3/7

someone added stuff about half wongs

now people just do things blindly and not really understand what they are doing

IIRC, teasing through 3 and 7 is exactly what he was saying, and I think he even coined half-wongs.

i just checked and apparently he says both. he has a section labeled something like requirements for good bets but then later says it appears that it's only worthwhile if you pick up 3/7 and get good odds which is obviously wrong and the book should be recalled

and i believe the term half wong came from two plus two. just search the net, the only results for the term point here.

Well, it's not "obviously wrong", don't think he was saying those are the only profitable teasers, just that they showed to be profitable in and of themselves. Obv the Wong threads we have had in the past had much more in-depth treatment of finer points, but true Wong teasers are still likely the best blind bet in sports betting, (is there a better one? Fade Notre Dame?)

totally agree with the 'best blind bet in sports betting' obv, especially the small home dog ones.

if boardwalk empire wasn't starting, i'd go upstairs and reread that section.

Wait, what's the problem? I'm pretty sure that DAL was +1.5 or so when this was posted, and I'm sure the Bucs were +2. It's not his fault that his books are slow.

Really? Second worst subset since 94 and the worst over the last 5 years.

sad panda
pretty sure I've posted some sick value and overshared itt way too often, but I guess I'm only leading people astray

I'm also sad I didn't get the 11 with the Raiders, but the other 5 I've posted all were definitely hot sauce, and I was fortunate to gain an extra pct point or two with them by getting some lovely +9 on 6 pointers.

I learned a ton of stuff quietly reading your posts for years and made money a few years ago on your college plays too, so no disrespect.

Just wondering your thoughts here:

These lines were both available at a Euro site:
Chiefs +3 -105 Buccs +3 -109

Still agree with teasing them?

TB and the Michael Vick experience made me sad this weekend... overall 4-2 on wongable games

possible games for this week (it is still very early)

Balt
STL
Indy

It doesn't matter what XXXX site had the game at. You should look at the Pinnacle drop downs to see what the efficient market had them at. Be thankful that whatever site will give you the extra push on the 9 for teasing a +2.5 efficient market team 6 points (even though the 9 is only like a 1% outcome, every bit helps).
