The required expected win rate(s) for a +EV bet is significantly lower 3 teaming at +180 than it is 2 teaming at -110.

yes but the thread said since 2005 2 teamer at -110 haven't been doing as well since it been winning at a 70% clip not 72.37%. It wouldn't be a +Ev bet if it not winning at a rate it should be . It could be variance but I rather have a +100 for two teamer then -110 just for a few extra edge. Probably won't stop me though since I am a degenerate gambler.

just looking blindly at the #s is bad

i.e 2.5 -130/2.5 -110 one is good to tease other isn't

instead people should look at it like

if I have a line of 2.5 -130, what is % it covers 8.5 and is the boost in % enough to make the bet have positive expected value. also 2.5 on a total of 36 vs a total of 50 yield different results

don't always need to tease 6, 5.5/5 work in certain situations

same theory applies to other professional sports. there's profitable teasers in nba i've been using for a couple of years

I'm running hot and placed my teasers at places and times that gave me Browns +8.5

I got Browns at 8.5 too which was nice. I have a book that takes two teamers at +100 which is even nicer as well.

i don't know anything about am. football so i'm probably coming off pretty dumb here, but the way these work is that you take a +2.5 dog for -110, tease the line to +8.5 and get a different price? what does this "cost", odds wise? do all bookies offer this?

if the 3 and 7 are the important ones, why tease a +2.5 dog six points to 8.5 instead of five points to 7.5?

and is there a particular reason for playing these in parlays instead of just making individual bets on each game?

luegofuego, here is a FAQ I put together for the Wong teases based on the smart posters at 2p2.

rsigley suggested earlier this week or the week before looking at 5 pt teases for +2.5. The problem is that those are not offered by very many sportsbooks, but it appears that, yes, there is some merit to doing it at the right price.

thanks, but i don't think that answers my questions. maybe it does but i just didn't get it. why parlays?

Because they don't offer 1 team teasers and if you buy points on a straight bet they charge you different amounts based on what numbers you are buying.

another thing:

if points are priced linearly in teasers, i'm guessing it's just as linear in spread movement? which should mean chasing steam when the spread moves from 3 to 3.5 is much more profitable than chasing steam when it moves from, say, 4 to 4.5...?

ah thanks, figures. that probably answers my other question too - they don't price spreads linearly when they move it from 3 to 3.5 etc?
