I skipped over some of it so my bad, but i didn't even know what the meaning of steam chaser meant until it was pointed out in this thread.

I assumed all sports bettors steam chased at some point (if i understand correctly steam chasing is arbing?) as i seen some "sports bettors" on this forum been bagged because all they did all day was simply watch market moves "steam chase" - but their considered sports bettors on the forum.

I mean with horse racing there's traders >> arbers, and handicappers/bettors etc, but each one does a bit of the other at some point during the day when the opportunity arises.

For example If I'm going to bet some horse - and i know its going to shorten from the money i put on it, then I'm going to bet it for my max bet amount plus some more - because if i know its going to shorten from my money, i might as well make a trading opportunity out of it too as in back it at top price and lay it at the shorter price etc. So would that make me a trader or arber probably not.

In this thread you failed to read the article you shared,your definition of chasing steams is primary school betting mistake and you opened a thread recently where you failed to give the correct odds.

I guess betting $600 a game sounds big to the average ESPN reader but any actual legitimate syndicate is betting far larger amounts than that.
