I agree to an extent about total money won would be a major factor in determining a great handicapper, but IMO it's still a little naive to base it as the most important aspect to guage how good a handicapper is. Hypertheticly, yes HYPERTHETICLY you're shopping for a handicapper to get picks, let's take two touts from Vegas who have the same exact documented legitimate record. The first guy bets $1,000/game and is up $500k for lifetime. Second guy has different bankroll management and currently bets $1,500/game and is up $750k. The guy betting $1000/game is going to charge $79.95/month for picks, the guy betting $1500/game only charges $100/month for picks.
Bogus example, but again it's hypertheticle. You'd choose the guy who "wins more money" and charges more for picks over other guy who has the exact same record but charges less?

Can you possibly get down enough when you're a winner though? A real winner would be best off spending all their time getting as much money down as humanly possible. I'd think that would take a tremendous amount of work since your profits are only capped by how much you and you syndicate can get down.

If you're a professional sports bettor and get down for say $5k a unit and can also release these plays through a profitable tout business I'll ask again where is the downside? These two individuals who I've known for years do exactly this.
