When will the book close my bet? When will the book close my bet?

I was going to post this in NHL but can't find a thread and thought it may deserve its own.

Yesterday i was waiting for NHL series prices to post and I happened to be logged in right when my book posted them

To my surprise they had Vegas Golden Knights as a HUGE underdog at +270
i figured this was a mistake but what if it gets let through?

I put down a big portion compared to what i normally bet.

Sure enough 5 mins later the series bet was taken offline for a number of hours.

When it was reposted Vegas was -350 but it has been 24 hours and my bet is still open and the first game of the series plays today. If the game plays i assume my bet will then be open? Could this ever get through or will they almost 100% cancel this?

Was this an offshore book or a PPH?

If it's offshore there is a 99%+ chance they hold this bet until the series is over. If Vegas wins the series your bet will be no actioned. If Vegas loses series your bet will be graded a loss.

You took a shot at them, they're taking a shot back. Life.

If it's a PPH there's a chance your bookie won't notice and/or be alerted that you bet a bad line and your bet may stand. Most likely they will freeroll you the same way an offshore would. They may also just boot you, especially if you do this multiple times.

this is what i believe is offshore (don't know tbh) what would you suggest? they have a cashout option which would give me money back at this point

I'd suggest not taking shots at books.

There's basically no upside to betting on super obvious errors like this IMO. If the book is ethical, they should either (a) let this bet stand as is (very unlikely and I don't really see any reason why they should do this) or (b) no-action it as soon as they discover the mistake.

(b) is the ethical and sensible thing for the book to do and what I think a book like Pinnacle would do for example.

More likely they will (c) freeroll you and (d) limit your account if you do it repeatedly.
