Perhaps I’m way out of place here but I’ve been thinking about making this post for a while and am finally pulling the trigger here.

I think 2+2 made a very poor decision in taking on sponsorship or adds from oddsmaker.com. It’s mostly likely that they are not aware of the history of that company and how poor their reputation is in the industry. I know there have been threads before where people have said to avoid BetUSA.com and now here is another book started by BetUSA which even worst now operates on the Future Bet system (Future Bet handles the oddsmaker.com cashier).

The reason this bothers me so much is that every time we participate in a thread here we are helping aid Oddsmaker.com marketing efforts. If it was a mediocre or even low quality sportsbook then not a huge deal. It becomes a bigger deal though when their host (Future Bet) has countless complaints which have accumulated against them over the years of slow pays, no pays, unfair rule changes, grading errors, canceling bets after games are started etc etc. The list of problems with this operation goes miles long.

This post will probably be pointless but if others have thoughts on this then please post them here.

Personally I think if 2+2 wants this section of their forum to improve they can start by changing sponsors. I think there will be plenty who are turned off by this forum when they see the oddsmaker.com ads, and even worst there will be people here who will see that banner as a form of an endorsement and will end up joining and then being scammed by Oddmaker.com

No way you're out of line here. I think a warning about Oddsmaker should be stickied.

It takes < 5 minutes to got to SBR and see that in no way should they be sending their customers to Oddsmaker.com. Everyone at 2+2 who was involved in this decision should be ashamed of themselves. This was laziness at best, and a conscious decision to let their members be taken advantage of in return for money at worst.

I say sticky a warning.

We asked the people at Oddsmaker to address your issues. They provided us with the following statement:

"All new Oddsmaker.com

Oddsmaker.com is under new management. Beginning in March 2007, we have been making significant changes to improve the overall quality of service we provide to our customers.

Though we remain a licensee of Future Bet, as independent operators we have implemented cutting edge technology to meet the ever evolving demands of our industry.

Oddsmaker.com continues to use the future bet software platform but with the following upgrades: a totally revised website, new management, and our own processing and customer support team that is completely independent of Future Bet’s operations.

As a result, we have grown in leaps and bounds, but without skipping a beat when it comes to customer support and concerns.

We are demonstrating a strong marketing commitment going forward. Our online presence at TwoPlusTwo.com is reflective of our advertising efforts. We are also marketing at other well known sites such as Covers, TheRx, and EOG.com to name a few.

We are offering more promotions and incentives than ever before. We are dedicated to deliver prompt payouts and alternative deposit methods. Furthermore, we have a marketing budget geared to grow the site to newer standards and higher levels.

We welcome your feedback on how we can make your experience at oddsmaker.com a more pleasant one.

Regards,

Oddsmaker.com"

Oddsmaker (SBR rating D-) slow-paying clients including its non-US players. The sportsbook has been relisted in the SBR rating guide as a member of the Futurebet Group of sportsbooks and should be avoided. Oddsmaker is now relying on Futurebet's cashier and PlayerSupport services as well as its software. The group's payout complaints are on the rise as they are each year before the start of the betting season.

Player: i am ******* from morocco i send you this email to do a complaint i am a player in Oddsmaker.com( Account # ***** ) it is now 3 mounth i did the request for my third withdrawal request for an amount of 4000 euros and my request has not yet released please contact the bookmaker and ask it to send me my winnings , i am very tired to contact it without answer.

They can hang all new bells and whistles for people to deposit to, but the bottom line is FutureBet still handles the damn money. Which means 6 month + payout waits for any real amounts. Come on 2+2 don't fall for this shiat.

There customer service is still the same as FutureBet's wonderful support for cashout issues. Any chance we can get companies like Enron to start advertising on here too??

futurebet's cashier is the worst

a few years ago, they were taking a month plus to pay out on affiliated poker and sportsbetting sites

it has only gotten worse with time and should be avoided

oh well, if the poker players here deposit without researching, they deserves what they gets

Thanks Mat for responding to this.

I do think though that companies with such a shady past and associated with borderline criminals in futurebet is still not the best choice but thats your decision and right. I personally feel better that the issue has been brought up and hopefully you guys keep a close eye on this because I know a lot of newbies with no clue about sports betting migrate over here from the poker forums often asking about which book to join etc. I think some of those will take the banners as an endorsement of Oddsmaker and join them without researching.
I'm owed around $7,500 from future bet and have friends who are owed a lot more, It has been over a year and we do not hang on to hopes of getting this money anymore.

Pokes Poker issued a similar statement about their own cashier etc before stealing a million dollars from a bunch of 2+2ers. In the end they changed their mind and blamed it on Future Bet and Future Bet blamed it on them etc. Same case all the time with future bet. I don't know whose fault that is but I've always said "Friends don't let friend deposit at future bet sites".

Hope this all works out.

Would you keep funds in oddsmaker given the history?

One can search all over SBR's forums and find negative things about Oddsmaker. This is the same standard BS post by Oddsmaker, all low class scum sportsbooks make comments like these to defend themselves. 2+2 is putting their players funds at risk for a quick buck by having them as a sponsor.

SBR is no doubt one of the most trusted sites in the industry. These guys tell it like it is. They have nice offices (pictures available on the website) set up in Costa Rica and actually go and inspect sites and are able to meet with different sportsbook managers face to face.

SBR_John obviously doesn't think they are any better since march. Just on the 6th of this month he made a post about them in their forum which included:

I can only speak from my personal experience with Oddsmaker. This is a sports book that I have met with on 3 different occasions. The last time took place 2 weeks ago when Oddsmaker invited all of the posters on EOG.COM to FREE ROOMS at the Atlantis Casino in the Bahamas.

I have been involved in the online sports book industry for 12 years. It is very rare for one of our sponsors to be this generous.

Furthermore, I have personally guaranteed deposits to them for up to 5k per account. And while I don't mind some people resorting to "name calling," I invite anyone to check out my history and reputation with any online sports book involving "pay outs," period.

Therefore, if you want to give Oddsmaker an honest try and stop bitching about their past, I will guarantee your money up to 5k...

All that is required is that you provide your account number and weekly balances by email to me and Oddsmaker to be insured...

Thanks,

The Shrink

OddsMaker.com is one of the most reputable gaming sites online today. Offering you everything from Sportsbook wagering, poker rooms, casino games, fantasy games, all to better accommodate you.

From Shrinks site. How much did they pay you for that one? Also with everyone who had guarantees with the BOS sites through other sportsbetting forums nothing much has come of that either. Did you guys have guarantees for those people who lost it all on BetOnSports and sister sites? Did you pay people out for that?

Really sure guarantee our money. Is the guarantee we will be paid out within 12 months or our money back??

The Shrinks always been on of the favorite shills in the industry. I mean that too he handles himself so well and seems like such a great guy.

Edit: Its just a shame he takes on the sponsors he does. I would hang out at EOG much more again if that was the case but i have a hard time with feeling like I'm aiding in marketing. Like there is a part of me that feels a bit guilty each time I post in this forum now

EOG.COM NEVER guaranteed BOS or their sister books when they STIFFED.

My former place, TheRx did insure them...

Please get your facts straight if you are going to accuse me of not honoring my word..

BTW, I believe EVERY SPORTS BOOK will vouch for my money and timely payouts when I lose (credit side)...

PropPlayer, I wish you'd reconsider posting again as we enjoy having as many people around to bust my chops when they need to be ...

If they are honest, why would we need your guarantee?

If they are honest, why the $5k limit? When I give my word of honor vouching for someone, it's good as high as you can go, even if it takes me the rest of my life to pay it back [thus it is a very short list.]

All I can think of is:

Well, some sports bettors feel safer knowing I back up each sponsor with my own money...

There is always some risk, albeit I believe it to be minimal...

That's great that Oddsmaker says they're honest. Do you feel comfortable sending 2+2ers there?
