Just when I thought things were starting to turn around.

Updated YTD: 1-13, -11.55 units, 15 units wagered, -77.0% ROI

I'm taking some time off to figure out where things went wrong.

The Pirates last ten games.. eight of them have been decided by 3 or more runs.

Okay.. I've got it.

When the Pirates lose by 1 or 2 runs, they win their next game by 3 or more.

1) April 9th (Loss 2-1 vs STL) then won 10-2 vs CIN

2) April 12th (Loss 2-0 vs CIN) then won 7-0 vs HOU

3) April 24th (Loss 4-3 vs SDG) then won 10-1 vs SDG

FOOLPROOF

3-0 so far.. I will keep close tabs on this absolute gem.

Systems aren't supposed to take days off IMO

OP I'm sure this is a winning system from all the research you did for concluding it was profitable...oh wait

Pirates just lost 6-5, so that means they are a go for wednesday -2.5 runs

Anyone got a line for it?

Since this system started the following teams have not won a single game by 2.5:

Texas Rangers

That is all.

So basically _________ (insert team here) 2.5 system is more profitable than the current system? I'm just going to take every team but the rangers -2.5. What is the frequency of a victory by any team by more than 2.5 runs this season?

This system usually focuses on the offensive power of the Rangers (did you know that thirteen of the Rangers 15 runs in the first three games of the Baltimore series came via the long ball?). But with Hamilton still hurt and not playing, we're going to need more of a team effort. So I was pleased when I read this...

Some of the best news from the road trip was that the velocity apparently has returned for starter Vicente Padilla. Ron Washington said Padilla was throwing 94-95 mph in Friday’s start against Baltimore.

During my time away, I realized most of our losses came from laying 2.5 runs on an underdog. Well, tonight the Rangers are expected to win. At home against a divisional opponent, they will come out swinging hard. With the total expected to go over 10.5, I might normally take both teams -2.5. Not tonight. I'm taking the unit I would have put on the A's -2.5 and putting it all on the Rangers!

Wednesday (1 Play)
2 Units on Texas Rangers -2½ +220 (Greek)

PS, the Rangers are a 0.500 ball club as of today!

I like Padilla because he's "Sam Cassell+100 lbs" fugly.

But its nice of him to offer that extra boost now so hitters can start launching into the parking lot

4/28 7/16
4/27 7/13
4/26 10/15
4/25 9/15
4/24 8/15
4/23 7/9
4/22 7/16
4/21 6/14
4/20 3/5

Small sample size but 64/118. So just over 50% of all games end with a spread of more than 2.5. So just over 25% (64/236) of teams if you are betting on both sides. Or if you bet every team except the Rangers then you get up to 28% (64/227).

Great news to hear. Thanks for getting that info for me. So is there a way to find out the average juice for a -2.5 bet and if I had put 1u on every team except the Rangers at -2.5 for every game this season what my ROI would be?

Wednesday's wagers were No Action'd. Make-up game today.

Thursday (1 Play)
2 Units on Texas Rangers -2½ +260 (Greek)

Greek is giving a more generous payout on the Rangers today. I considered putting an additional unit on it to make up for the missed game yesterday. But we're sticking with two, folks. Today could be a 5+ unit score!
