I had this game on at work yesterday and the first thing I thought of when Salty homered was 'OMG...Texas is covering the 2'. This is truly the thread which keeps on giving (and perverting my thought process).

After a horrible start, we're now on a +10 unit run. The Rangers are sizzling now (After having played 25 games, their current home-run total of 46 is the fourth-highest in major-league history). Also, they've finally started hitting well on the road. For those of you who have been merely watching this system from the sidelines, now is the time hop aboard. Dan Giese, meet Ian Kinsler. Enjoy your first start of the 2009 season against the Texas Rangers!

Individual players have hit streaks. The Texas Rangers have home-run streaks. The Rangers solo shot in the first inning yesterday gave the Rangers home runs in all 13 road games this season. Today I expect them to keep the streak alive. This time the A's won't be so lucky for it to be another solo blast.

Thursday (1 Play)
1 Unit on Texas Rangers -2½ +230 (5Dimes)

Edit: I forgot to add, that this is 1 unit on your AL West 1st Place Texas Rangers!

I cant help but imagine this thread but for the Jays since the start of the season, that being said I like the Rangers and think they are an offensive powerhouse and will crush their fair share of games this year.

Well hello again, Mr. Contreras. Folks, if there is one pitcher the Rangers own it's José Contreras. You saw what the Rangers did to him last time--"having allowed 14 runs in 7 1-3 innings in two starts against the Rangers since the start of last season. In five career starts versus Texas, Contreras is 1-2 with a 10.17 ERA - his highest ERA against any team he’s faced more than once."

I seriously cannot believe the Rangers are an underdog in this game. We're taking this for a double unit and after the game are probably going to regret not putting more on it.

I wish I had bet more on yesterday's game. Contreras against the Rangers was a gift from the bookmakers. I'll admit, though, it was kind of a weird win. The Rangers won behind excellent pitching and no home-runs? That wasn't a typical Rangers victory but sometimes you win this game in unexpected ways.

A victory today and the coffers start to fill. After starting the system with one of the worst runs imaginable, we now have the opportunity to show a profit today! It just goes to show that 1) finding a good betting angle combined with 2) proper bet sizing (we're 2-2 on our 2 unit plays) results in a successful betting strategy.

It's hard to win a baseball game (let alone by 3+ runs) when your team strikes out in 14 of their at-bats.

Moving onward, today is the battle of the fat Latino pitchers. I'll be honest, folks, today is one of the few days that I'm not a big fan of taking the Rangers -2.5. Bartolo Colon has dominated The Rangers. In his last 12 starts, he's 12-0 with a 2.50 ERA. That's the longest streak among active players in baseball. Colon is 17-5 in his career against Texas.

That's the nice thing about system plays though. You can't outguess yourself. When a game meets the system's criteria, you bet it. Therefore...

Good angle on Colon vs. the Rangers. If Juan Gonzalez and Ruben Sierra sub in for some of the Rangers' starters it could be ugly.
