I'm not really sure what to think. It's only been 4-5 days without a payment, but for "cheers John" to just completely disappear while his book gets slammed hourly by all the sbr morons and for it all to be blamed on vacations and an xmas party, something seems wrong. I still think this is pretty premature, but an outright stiff job from another pos in Costa Rica wouldn't surprise. I still don't think they are in the same league of recklessness as Cascade the bookmaker and WSEX the whatever the hell it was they did wrong to fail, to where they were always an obvious ticking time bomb just like those 2.

It would be kind of funny though if B rated Betislands joined former B rated Jazz books (who from day 1 we were all told to chill out that Betislands has no relation to these broke crooks), A+ rated WSEX, A rated Cascade, and a few casino disputes from A rated books they sweep under the rug. Their ever growing list of dog **** recommendations throughout the years is hilarious. Spiro and Mickey might end up being the only 2 honest men in the history of the business.

Ugggh, looks like Betislands is about to join the list of all the other greatest cons promoted in sbr's brief history. Downgraded to C, banner down, con man Dozer confirms there is no more Jon. Nice rating you crooks. BTJ was right for once in his life about "the books you gotta worry about are the ones that brag about how fast they pay". And of course everybody knows his Lenny ***** fest that he gripes about 10 years later

It's seriously is about time Walker/Dozer/and Lou get a broomstick shoved up their ass or something due to all the money they've screwed people out of with their watchdog lies. 6 years and they now have Cascade, Wsex, Jazz brands/Betislands to their name and who knows how many millions in lost player funds that comes with it. Cascade was about 5 million alone iirc. Nothing more than an affiliate scam, but remains the only place that will go to bat for you with any slight pull in a dispute. Fk them

Summary: lol sbr and their ratings. They're a group of con artists. Never trust a book owner or GM just because he's there to post and answer any and all questions, or a website profiting off of a banner. Jay Cohen and Cheers Jon were there and available all the time right until the scam came to light like this one is now. B2B tranfers are very important to pay attention to. IIRC Cris wouldn't touch wsex pretty early on into their downfall, and i don't think a single book out there wanted anything to do with b2b with betislands. I guess that should have been a gigantic red flag. Imstillben called this from the get go about how much bs the whole jazz no relations to betislands things seemed. Of course sbr would rather ban players like him for cutting into their dollars vs cutting into a scam books dollars. Betislands is all but likely heading for D- just like all the other once upon a time B-C rated Jazz books.

Edit: lol looks like I'm adding a useless 1k of monopoly money winnings to my account tonight thanks to Cal Poly

re: SBR Discussion Thread (SportsBookReview / SBRForum)

I sent Microbob the following in a PM on October 15, when saying why SBR should be removed from the FAQ.

Quote:
The BetIslands rating is a joke and more or less fraud. The book is paying well because of partnership now with SBR, who still only rates them a B but gives them a banner doesn't comment on them much but allows their forum to be infested with BetIsland shills. The real deal behind that book is Jon essentially doesn't exist. Jon formerly used the name Nick and managed two different shops SBR has rated D-. He then became Jon when moving to WagerChief brand and SBR helped build him up. When he lost that position he continued the sell and took over BetIslands.

SBR pulled a stunt. BetIslands was rated D with other Jazz sites. With it being an unknown tiny book, they just deleted all reference of it for a few months. Then they initiated them at C- on March 22, 2011. The forum shills started with a bad group but Jon is the man and kept repeating it.

It took less than 8 months to go from C- to B.

11/03/2011 06:57 PM CST
BetIslands upgraded from B- to B
08/04/2011 03:05 PM CST
BetIslands upgraded from C+ to B-
06/21/2011 12:26 PM CST
BetIslands upgraded from C to C+
05/17/2011 08:00 PM CST
BetIslands upgraded from C- to C
03/22/2011 06:21 PM CST
BetIslands - SBR initiates rating coverage at C-

SBR would have a tough time selling this book so the ghost just do it. Granted while Jon has been there everything has been fine, but this was just a take over a dead brand and was the continuation of the fabricated Jon character SBR helped sell when he was with WagerChief.
I'm not sure I got the story 100% correct but is a smoking gun that exists here too. Hopefully someone leverages it to get players paid.

I posted this over at sbr so that some swept under the rug truth about sbr and betislands could be exposed. Hopefully you don't mind

Who did Jon formerly run that's D-? I can only guess Looselines, Jazz Sports, or ABC Islands.

Also anybody have Nick/Jon's personal info to post here? While posters are potentially getting screwed out of a lot of money again thanks to sbr, the only thing they're worried about is deleting his personal info. Lol those crooks just get more shameless every week

also, **** sbr. god damn, if this **** doesn't start a revolution in point-land nothing will.

why?

reddit will call us degens and say we get what we deserve or, worse, call for gov't takeover

Expose sbr . Nvg & Reddit get way more traffic then the sb section here
Just seems like anyone can apply for a license, register a domain in c/r, ponzi scheme, rinse & repeat

what good does exposing sbr do?

sure, they suck. However, they still one of the few voices we got to gets paid on occasion.

yep... things go poorly often. This sucks. I'm out an amount I'm a bit uncomfortable with. So it goes....

Cannot get personal. It's business. The equation changed. NVG and Reddit do jack **** for me having a more profitable future.

BI stopped using DPT (jazz) services a while ago. And as far as I know Jazz manage to pay all the money it owed. Perhaps we will see their banner flying at sbr again soon.

Yeah but just the fact that they were in the same building as jazz when they started out stunk to high heaven seeing the debt status they had at the time. Wasn't aware that jazz actually paid everybody back. Only took years I guess. Wasn't it almost a miracle that they even stayed afloat? And lol yes, it's time sbr puts back up the jazz banner. They have an open spot now.

Did you play there? I remember you weren't very high on them initially

I just had emergency dental surgery with 1 molar + 1 wisdom tooth both infected pullled while awake, was ****ing brutal and super out of it. But quickly, I knew they were a 4-5 employee tiny shop with mostly punks behind them, but that's about all. I didn't see this coming until it was too late.

Who ran off with all the money was it Jon or the backer? Just retaking one look at Jon's picture I can't believe I ever sent him a dime. A punk indeed who can write somewhat eloquent on the forums. I hope somebody sees his knuckle tattoed ass living the high life on a beach down there some day and curbies him or something.

Oh well all the warning were there. Couldn't pay agents, free half points+reduced juice+large bonuses, always got the same cs reps like they didn't have anybody there minus 5 guys like prop said, said they were gonna pay Cory but never sent him a penny, 7redsports warnings for months that were covered up by sbr, etc. Sigh I feel stupid

Wow I should of stayed in bed. In pain here but caught the SBR thread.

Bill's response to any bailouts:

Quote:
It has been explored. It turned out there were some large sharp players that risk mgt should have not let take advantage. This made bailout options or takeovers not possible for the book.
Bill how is it you already know so much about bailouts? I seen them downgraded B to C only hours ago. I'm no rat but this time I'm actually hopeful some is. You are just as much to blame as anyone for this. tmcpr Bill? exactly! you are a fraud.

However it came to be as so, what I learned about 5 days ago is there is no money; the money is just gone (mostly lost to players but probably over spending along the way by the guys running it too).

1) They had financial trouble earlier on and got backer
2) This backer was caught up in the Pinnacle bust on the Jazz side.
3) SBR delayed because was some hope of a bailout.

I didn't know until was too late. Bill knew in enough time could of saved some deposits. Though in fairness part of that is a tough situation. Had he went out leaking what he knew earlier then probably they would crash.

However, SBR caused this in the first place, with Bill doing most the damage, but Justin who many view as independent (not a puppet) deserves more hit to his reputation as well. Lou is just a puppet, and John is the master con. Sheri is just head troll.

Backer tied to jazz, well that just confirms what everybody suspected/knew all along. More sbr lies from the get go. I wish Spiro could just run an industry monopoly. I never once feared anything playing at the greek.

re: SBR Discussion Thread (SportsBookReview / SBRForum)

I actually suspect that part of the story is at least partially legit. Jazz is a major PPH player. The backer (previously or partially still) using their service and moving to another got caught up in a bust that involved Jazz PPH service.

The known open lead everyone has is 7RedSports was rumored to be ran by Jon (BetIslands) and Oscar (EZStreet) back when Justin7 stepped in saying he knows the owner of BetIslands Jon and assures us these books are not connected. Several in Costa Rica loled with Bill saying this was former WagerChief employees spreading lies and banned them. Then just a couple weeks ago when it was caught they were associated, Jon said BetIslands had just acquired 7RedSports and SBR helped spin that, despite being super obvious.

Not funny given the timing, but reply Jon writing well.

re: SBR Discussion Thread (SportsBookReview / SBRForum)

SBR knew about the BI financial problems before it went under and did nothing to warn players.

http://gamelive.com/forum/showthread...nded-at-please

Here moderator at SBR Shari91 a.k.a. Oksana posts a thread hinting about financial difficulties at BI prior to implosion. Thread posted on December 14, 2012. It was also rumored that BI was stiffing affiliate as early as October 2012. SBR is one of the largest affiliates for BI it would have known too.

Jon talks :rolleyes

What a scumbag. He kept promoting his bonuses all they way past thanksgiving assuring everybody that betislands was fine and saying these bonuses were no indication of a need for players. He was a lying scumbag right to the end but he posts a closure thread so all is supposed to be well? I guess on his mind that's more than Lenny or Cohen ever did. Never mind the 1.5 mil people you ended up responsible for cheating people out of, you appologized aNd tried to give closure. BRAVO JON FOR THAT HEART FELT CLOSURE YOU GAVE US ALL, AND BRAFKNVO SBR FOR LETTING THIS POS SHILL HIS OWN FRAUD BOOK NON STOP.

I seriously hope in my lifetime I get to see all involved with sbr thrown in jail. Walker and Dozer first and foremost. Lou thrown in a mentally retarded home.
