I have a wealthy friend that likes to gamble. I’m trying to a find a way to make money but don’t know the best way. Maybe you can help.

He had a bookie last year with a 2k game limit/10k week limit. He’d get past the 2k limit by betting 2k 1st half and game so he could have 4K on the game.

He had a 7 week stretch where he lost his limit each week (70k). Then immediately had a 2 week stretch where he won a total of 47k. The bookie had trouble paying and couldn’t take anymore action.

Legalized gambling started a few months back in RI. I’ve been making runs to Twin River for him. Between him having his kids and being an alcoholic he never goes so I go for him.

He put 20k on Pats AFC and 20k Pats SB. Both times gave me $500 for running for him. He just put 10k Celts game 1 vs Milwaukee and won (tipped me 500) and put $11000 to make $35,200 on the celts to win the series vs Milwaukee but lost.

The point I’m getting at is there sites where I can deposit a lot and get deals or is my best bet making runs for him? Take into consideration we live 70 miles apart and the casino is another 30.

you guys need a more clear arrangement so you aren't driving all over for your buddy in the hopes of tips. if he wants action at twin river, it will cost him xx in runners fees.

if it were me, i'd just want to get out of being the middleman and make sure my friend doesn't get scammed on his own. it would be easiest to just teach him how to buy bitcoin and deposit it at a top tier offshore bookmaker. while i'm reluctant to name an actual book, i will never not recommend bookmaker for their limits and security of funds.

just be careful. this is a situation ripe for getting scammed.

It is tempting to do what the owner of the Peach Pit did to Brandon Walsh and only book the losers and tell them you couldn't get the bet in on time for the winners, but don't. He lost his entire business over it!

You can open accounts on 5dimes and other betting sites and possibly get better lines. If you are motivated then you can use a VPN and open accounts at other sites too. I recommend Bookmaker and Bet365. As you bet on these sites you will also get freeplays and other benefits too.
Just make sure you don't **** yourself and end up owing him a bet you didn't place or something.

this is probably the best way to do this. Get an account at a place with low juice and book him at a few cents worse. So if he wants lakers -6, put it in at -105 and book him at -110. That alone will make you decent money. Add in the free play and bonuses and youre doing great.

But of course have to really careful. if you miss a bet that you said you put in youre ****ed.

If you do that you would have to never send him a single photo of a betslip even when requested. Since he's an alcoholic there's likely to be some kind of discrepancy at some point where you are going to be unable to send proof of the bet being placed as stated and he feels cheated

I doubt that. OP is providing a service, theres no reason he shouldnt get compensated. He can book the guy at -109 everything so hed still be getting a better deal than if he was doing it himself.

If youre having someone bet for you and youre used to betting everything -110 and this guy offers to put in everything for you for free and at -109, are you really going to complain that he got himself -105? The drunkie can go bet himself if he doesnt like it. I didnt say to lie about it.

it sorta depends on how good of a friend this person is IMO. Given the volume I do think you can have a convo with the friend about compensation and just be direct/honest. If he's a good buddy you wouldnt want him finding out you've been double-dipping or taking his bets on yourself. If he isn't such a good friend, and you have the bankroll to cover a full upswing run by him, then you could consider taking the bets yourself I guess.

just be transparent. come up with some agreement for your compensation. some ideas. flat fee per trip. a small percent of handle. a bigger percent of winners. or none of the above and politely decline to continue to participate and offer to get him all setup on his own online.

If this guy is a degen as much as OP described, I don't think he would mind a 4c cut of the wins. Cost of doing business, just be transparent about it so it all works out in the end.

If you're looking to profit off of this guy, don't call him a friend. Friends don't look to make money off of each other.

A few years ago, when I was a greedy ****ing capitalist, I used to loan money to friends and charge interest. I now think about how scummy I was and it makes me sick. I tried to pay back as many people as I could find whatever I made off of them.

Have an open and fair deal set up if you're going to be his runner, but don't go sitting on his action, trying to off it somewhere sketchy, or some other similar set up.

I don't charge my friends interest on loans, but this is actual work he's doing here.

not to sidebar the convo on this but I'm curious: do you never charge for loans or depending on what type of loan it is? One thing I've always struggled with is floating my buddies with out bookie (we all share the same one and I usually handle drop off and pick-ups.) A lot of time I've covering their losses with my wins (brag) but in my scenario would you still never charge anything for that (full disclosure - my friends pay me in free beers when we go out.)

Giving out loans is fine until they start treating you like their personal atm

Not to mention the awkard situations when they dont pay in their timeframe and you need to chase up risking friendships or just forgetting it and losing money

Ive given many a loan to friends and acquaintances over the years.

I have lots of experience and my suggestion is just dont do it. Its very easy to just say no and it literally never ends up good. Best case they pay you as promised but they start acting like theyre doing you a favor after a while. And worst case is you lose money and a friend.

If someone won't be my friend because I won't lend them thousands of dollars what kind of friend were they in the first place?

well if we all lent money to friends how would the payday loan shops be able to stay in business

Once you rid yourself of 1) and 2) and realize you are nothing in life then you can succeed.
