But looks like it may come down to double picks per week in
the playoff weeks coming up, and teams reset.
I'd say don't split now, but if people seem keen to split, then if you survive, split when playoffs start. Maybe there will only be 2 or 3 at that point.

3 left in mine. I'm the only one with a rebuy left but it doesn't matter because after this week if there's more than me left it gets chopped.

Have the 49ers left so that's a snap shove. Gotta hope my opponents choices are very slim. Wish me luck.

Have SF also. 40 left in mine. Once playoffs start all teams reset. There have also been times in past where it was decided to use spreads in playoffs to help thin the field. With a "documented" 24% lifetime picking winners, I really hope it does not come to this.

Any pool that goes into the playoffs in which teams are reset and point spreads are used is a pool not worth entering to begin with

Well I definitely see your point to a degree....and he lets every vote on the point spread part. I'd hate to have 40 splitting a $20k prize. That would suck. The other pool has 3000 entries and ends after week 17. Still 22 left in that one and there's a good chance it gets split among 20 or more. Decent return since prize pool was so big but still rather have it whittled down a little.

I don't like the prospect of a pool being chopped that many ways either. Double pick weeks at weeks 5, 10 & 15 prevent this. Or a rule for double picks in weeks 15, 16 & 17 depending on how many people are left. I prefer the latter

What a waste of having 0 wrong so far. It's a pool with a barely 4 figure prize. Not only that its gonna end up being 3 way chopped because the other two rebought and won't lose FFS.

Why the hell couldn't I be in that $200 900 person one and have none wrong and 49ers left?

Guarantee I enter like 5 survivor pools next year and am out by Week 6 in all of them.

Oh well still bigger then mine; $20 buyin $612 total pool after fee with 4 left and teams get reset into the playoffs, slow torture and not even minimum wage after all the time I've put into this lol.
However this is my 1st year in survival pools and I'm hooked for some big buyin ones for next year.

Wow I may have just jinxed myself further lol, picks for this week;
1 DEN (me)
1 NYG
1 NE
1 SEA

We had choice and voted on whether to split it after this wk or go into playoffs, well apparently the other 3 voted to split so I'm looking at a $153 split if all survive, $204 if 3, $306 if 2, $612 if 1 survive and based on those picks yeaaaa what a waste of my time lol.

Who the hell would agree to a 153 dollar chop?

I know seriously, but its through my friend's work so they're all thinking woot 153 is 12hrs of work etc , pathetic tho. DEN to win outright one time! lol

And that alone just made me start a new survival pool for playoffs, check out the new thread I just posted if anyone's interested, thx.

That's horrible. Chop should have to be unanimous.

How do ppl feel about pit?

I can't find any lines except on party. It is better than nyg line.
Cle playing qb3, rb2, Steelers playing for .500, and undefeated with losing record under Mike Tomlin.

I'm leaning towards them. Expect my opponents to be on Seattle.

Freerolling! Go Rams. I'm a seahawks fan so it hurts to say that but will easily prefer the solo win.

Anyone's survivor running into the playoffs? We have 34 left for about $13k and all teams are available in the playoffs as many times as you would like. This is the most people we have has left this late in the pool. The pool allowed 3 rebuys up until week 6 so we ended up with 589 entries but it turns out 25 of the entries did not pay so we really only have 564 paid entries and a 7-8% pool mgt fee. Oh well - what can you do.

Leaning towards GB this week......maybe Hou to try and be a little different but the Texans make me nervous with how they've been playing lately.

Thoughts?

Had 4 people going into Week 17. Dumbass commish decides that for Week 17, everyone left just does a pick'em of all the games and the guy who has the best record takes it down. One guy forgets to submit picks. I go with straight moneyline favorites and win by a game.

Survivor pools where the rules aren't clearly stated at the start, and pools where people who don't pay by season opening kickoff aren't removed, are both stupid.

And pools where the commish stops caring about the league once he gets knocked out are stupid, too.

Anyone else in a pool that continues into the playoffs and your picks reset? There are three left in my pool, and this is the case. I'm trying to figure out the strategy for the playoffs, since you can only use each team once. I would guess that GB is the pick for this week, anyone have any other thoughts?

P.S. I assume this will get tricky if you make it to the conference championship games, because if you pick correctly that week, you have to pick the other team in the super bowl (and make sure you haven't picked them in the week prior!)
