Man...Oakland did everything it could to give that game away. Wow are they brutal. Feel like I am on a freeroll after that one. Few decent games this week.....not sure if Jacksonville has a snowball's chance in he** at winning up in GB. Early line is 13.

10 left in mine now. Me and one other are the only ones who have a rebuy left.

Slam dunk Packers next week.

90% of my pool had NE, that game really pissed me off Jets shoulda had it. There were 0 knockouts this week, sux but I still have a ton of my good teams not used up (took Minn this past week).

Obviously looking at GB this weekend, not many good choices out there as I already took the Bears.

Maybe Minny on Thursday night but Ponder has struggled of late and Tampa has been pretty competitive this season.

Have 5 entries across three pools $10k (3 entries) - $20k (1 entry) - $90k (1 entry). No rebuys allowed from this point forward.

I've been critical of others for using same team on all your entries (one guy in $90k pool put all 25 entries on NE week 2 loss).

How risky do you guys think riding GB at home vs a bad Jax team minus MJD and possibly Gabbart on all 5 picks? I just can't see GB losing at home this week. Any other real gimme's I can diversify with w/o taking too much risk? Maybe Chicago? Even Superman's twin <insert sarcasm> has the talent to do something crazy up in Chicago. Not likely but Cam worries me more than Chad Henne (9-20 71 yds vs Oakland).

Thoughts?

Only good reason not to go GB is to gamble it up and hope for an 80-90% knockout.

Also, a slightly not nearly as good reason is that week 9 is looking pretty thin on big home favs if you used Hou already, so GB vs. Ariz might be useful.

I'd def diversify away from GB in the pool in which the largest number of people are left and/ or the one where you have 3 entries.

9 left in mine and I have a rebuy. Only one other person has a rebuy. I know like half will be on GB only so this is a slam dunk see you Week 9.

looking at GB and Chi too , Cam def worries me tons more. 5 of 14 left in my pool have already used GB tho but I bet it will for sure be the heavy pick this week, don't see them losing either tho so might have to go with the popular pick for once, still have NE, Chi, Hou, SF and others left to use for future weeks also but mines a smaller pool.

So I'm in a 14k free survivor from my local radio station for Super Bowl Tickets. Took Bears, Bengals, Falcons, Giants, Lions, Patriots and Texans so far. Leaning Packers this week or Vikings.
- 443 of us are left over half had Patriots last week.

Packers are a lock just like the Pats in Week 2.

Ain't that the truth. Nothing is a given in the NFL. My betting record is a testament to that.

Are you guys considering Minny tonight (if you still have them available and if your Pool allows Thursday night game?)

I know Tampa has been competitive this year under coach Schiano and Minny has struggled on offense recently but the Bucs does not have much of a pass rush after Clayborn went on IR and the secondary is pretty weak. The run D is stronger so I think they can stop AP tonight but Ponder can look at Harvin, Rudolph and Simpson for some plays.

Tampa threw everything and the kitchen sink at the Saints last week and have to travel on a short week so I think they may be flat.

Argh.

I've used Houston, Pats, Atlanta, Baltimore, San Fran and Giants.

Obvious choice is Green Bay this week, but that leaves me in a horrid spot for week 9.

Can't find a decent pick anywhere.

Alternative is picking Chicago this week and having GB at home to Arizona in week 9.

16 left in the pool, 12 haven't used GB yet.

Any thoughts?

(Can't pick the Thursday night games)

Chi and the #1 D in the NFL should take care of business but Cam is a unique individual and could always have that breakout game. I don't see that happening though. I also think SD is a good pick (even though they are on the road) and Det too.

Just my .02.

Thanks for thoughts.

I don't like picking road teams much.

going GB; can't think of a better week to use them for a while, cya in week 9. Luckily I have Houston, NE, SF and others still at my disposal for future weeks and am in a small pool tho.

Heads up now, one guys took the Pats, one guy took the Bills (?).

Doubt I've been heads up this early in the season before, but I've got better teams left so my strategy is to go ABC and let him get stuck having to use some worse teams.

We've both used: ATL, BAL, HOU, NYG
He's used: PHI, CHI, NE
I've used: CIN, DAL, MIN

Currently looks like i'll have an edge weeks 11 and 12 with NE and PHI.

This is a silly rule to go by later in the season when we're sure what teams are really good and which ones suck. You wouldn't want to pick Houston at Indianapolis in Week 17 if they were playing for #1 seed? You don't want to pick San Diego this week because they're only a 3-point favorite. That's a valid reason

Next week vs Arizona, but I'd pick them too if I were still in my pools

I'm leaning Minny this week too and just can't seem to get off it. Minny hasn't lost at home this season and the Bucs haven't won on the road yet. What do you guys think? Is this getting too cute and I should just take GB/Bears?

Kinda depends if Ponders shows up or not imo, Bucs pretty good at holding the run and thus majority of Minn has been AP so if theyre able to hold him and Ponders struggles like last week then I see Bucs taking it which isn't too far fetched at all, but up to you.

2 in my Pool were on Minny :-)

Local pool tally for Week 8, only 50 left from 900+, $200/entry

Green Bay 44 (any surprise?)
Chicago 5
New England 1
