Of those three I'd take Miami even though the ML's are higher for the other two.But that's jmo.

Bump for the 2011 season! No, we are not creating a new thread!

NO @ GB (-4)
BUF @ KC (-6.5)
ATL @ CHI (+2.5)
IND @ HOU (-5.5)
TEN @ JAX (-3)
PHI @ STL (+4.5)
PIT @ BAL (-2.5)
DET @ TB (-1)
MIN @ SD (-9)
NYG @ WAS (+3)
CAR @ ARZ (-7)
SEA @ SF (-6)
DAL @ NYJ (-4.5)
NE @ MIA (+7)
OAK @ DEN (-3)

Chargers, Cardinals, Chiefs look solid, but I'm guessing the Texans will be the most popular pick this week given the possible injury concerns with Peyton Manning.

I hate SD in Sept / Oct, so I'm staying away from that. I'm thinking AZR as they're going against a rookie QB in Week 1 and they won't be favored by this much again until maybe week 15

My Survivor Rule that does quite well over the years..

1. Home Team
2. Superior QB Advantage

Week 1 - San Diego Chargers, are the only ones that qualify this week for me.

My formula as well. In a $100 league this year with 350+ entrants already. Run good one time?

the chargers always seem to start out slow, so i'm also staying away from them. right now i'm leaning toward the safe side and taking NE. there's just not much i'm seeing that i feel even 80% confident in.

The safe side = taking a road team in a divisional game in Week 1?

I know the texans are on the road week 1, but don't they appeal to anyone else going up against Collins?

How about Houston against a Peyton-less Indy?

What about Houston at home against Indy. Schaub >> Collins.

Houston is at home, and yes, several others like this game too:

I think I've pretty much settled on Houston as my week 1 survivor pick.

I think I worded it kind of poorly. My point is it's the Patriots, Belichick will have that team ready to go right out of the gate. I like this pick a lot more than the Chargers who are notorious slow starters under Norm. Who else is out there as a big favorite? Arizona...eh, KC...eh, Cleveland...eh. I'm confident in the Patriots. I know some people like to save the "good" teams until later in the year, but the fact is you have to get there in the first place. That strategy has burned me many times.

Panthers are away and anyone > Newton. Cards for me this week. Chargers can wait for their games at home to dolphins week 4, maybe bills week 14 as bears, packers, maybe even rams look good week 4

I have two entries in one pool that allows you to pick teams as many times as you want.

I picked the chargers with both entries.

WTF kind of survivor pool is that? You can just pick the Patriots 14 times if you want?

I'm in a similar league, with restrictions.

Weeks 1/2 - biggest point spread not available
Weeks 3/4 - 2 biggest point spreads not available
Weeks 5/6 - 3 biggest point spreads not available
Weeks 7+ - 4 biggest point spreads not available

Seems easy, but last year 70% of the teams were gone by week 5 (some crazy upsets) - there are 10K+ entries at $20 each, winner take all. I have 7 entries myself, and have made money every year by selling picks late in the season.

I'd really like to save SDC, but they seem like a lock at home. Rivers is going to throw over the heads of that short secondary all day.

HOU it is...
