Detroit Lions <-- There might be deeper money lines out there, but that's the only "LOCK" this week.

Sometimes you have to be good to be lucky and lucky to be good.

On to Week 9!

Well KC got lucky, but it wasn't luck to avoid the Jets (a team with a crappy HFA) against a good team.

Agree but you can't tell me you were ******** your pants (and so did I) when the Rian Lindell kicked that FG (prior to the timeout).

I said in a previous post that I felt the Jets would be going down today. Too bad for the folks on them. There's always next year.

Movin' on.

No doubt, Bills had the game won about 9 different times.

i realize each pool has their own rules, but what is the standard regardng tie games?
NFL Survivor Picks Quote

Ties = losses in all the leagues I've been in, but it's stupid of a commish not to set those rules before the season started.

Most of the pools that I am in have ties = loss.

Early candidates for Week 9: Atlanta or Green Bay. May give Minny a look, pending the QB situations.

Bills make me a little nervous, but meh.

Well played, Rex. Super Bowl here you come.

Now let's go get a god-damned snack...

Who thinks ATL is decent for week 9?

This game kind of scares me but we are down to six people, I still have the Falcons available and three other poolies have already burned them.

If I end up going with the Falcons I am definitely hedging either way. Something scares me about this battle for first place type game.

Against best team in NFC?

Glad I don't have to think much this week. Packers easy pick for me, no one else has them left.

Lol, stats are for losers imo.
ATL is a fine pick this week. It's either that or the trainwreck in Minnesota.

How about NYG over SEA?

Personally, I'm thinking of saving NYG for weeks 10 (hosting Dallas) or 12 (hosting Jax). I kinda like Atlanta this week. I don't trust the Vikings, and my only other option, New Orleans, i think would be better in 11 (hosting Seattle).

I think I'm going with ATL, coming off a bye week against a TB team whose number they've had in the last two years.

Regardless of what their coach says Tampa is nowhere near as good as their record indicates. They've beaten the bad teams but the only two good teams they've played have smoked them by 25 points each. Atlanta is the best choice this week imo.

As for the others mentioned...who knows with Dallas. They're certainly better than their record. Plus I hate going against teams that were embarrassed the week before. Green Bay shutting out the Jets looks good but they were outgained by over 100 yds in that game. Jets turnovers were the key to the win.

Minnesota...can you spell turmoil? And I wouldn't expect Harvin to be open quite so much without Moss around.I'll pass awaiting a better read on which way they're heading.

Seattle has probably the biggest home/road dichotomy in the league. Giants are clearly the better team but upsets do happen and the Giants are traveling coast to coast. I'd pass this one too.

Totally agree on TB, Dallas-GB and Seattle. I do think Harvin proved he is a player last year w/out Moss at a position rookies don't usually do well. There is lots of turmoil there but the Cardinals are quietly a horrendous football team - I would take the Bills vs. them on a neutral field right now.

I wouldn't touch that game, Seattle plays very well at home.

all of this

and I agree with this so strongly that I believe I'll be taking a game where two teams are tied for the div lead at 5-2; I know TB is a special case so far but still, it just looks funny on the surface as a pick

week 10 *sigh*

6 poolies left, I don't have NYG available but 3 others do, which obv sucks for me because NOTHING is a lock this week IMO except for this game, at this point I just can't see the Giants rolling over at home to this team in shambles, especially after witnessing:

a) Giants' sheer dominance at Qwest field this past Sunday against a team that is quite likely better than the Cowboys

b) the Cowboys being completely embarrassed on SNF

This week is a bit of a nightmare for people like me who haven't saved the Giants. Thoughts on who to roll the dice with? I'm not touching Steelers hosting Brady et. al. I've also burned the Colts. The rest of these favorites seem quite meh (TB lol, SF lol)

Tampa Bay is a better option than you're giving credit to. They're facing off against a Panthers team without Matt Moore, and they may be without DeAngelo Williams AND Jonathan Stewart. Where are the weapons then? Jimmy Clausen passing to Steve Smith?
