I used Bears and Raiders so far. This week Vikings.

Vikings are probably the right pick because nobody is picking them at all, but I'm too much of a poosay to take them over the Patriots with how bad they've looked so far.

Can anyone explain the difference in consensus picks between Yahoo and ESPN? The only rule difference is, in ESPN the goal is to get the longest win streak that you can, so if you lose in week 1, you still make picks to try and get 16 in a row.

Here it is for week 3:

Team Yahoo | ESPN
New England 53.78% | 28.2%
Baltimore 22.38% | 32.1%
Minnesota 7.42% | 13.8%
Washington 6.88% | 7.9%
Cincinnati 2.39% | 2.3%
San Diego 0.96% | 1.5%
Arizona 0.9% | 1.2%
Indianapolis 0.84% | 1.2%
Pittsburgh 0.67% | 1.7%
San Francisco 0.62% | 4.2%

On ESPN, you can pick all 17 weeks at one time. On Yahoo, you have to pick it each week. So some people on ESPN probably pick all of theirs in July, and things have changed since then, making Minnesota a less popular pick than if you mapped it out months ago.

I will say that as a Detroit fan we usually play pretty well in Minnesota. They usually end up losing (as they always do) but they play them tough there for some reason. As opposed to Green Bay when we go in there we just get crushed every year, something like 15 or 16 straight losses there. But with how bad Minny has looked, I would stay away from them. Detroit plays well against Adrian Peterson and their D line has been very solid this year so I expect them to contain him once again. Detroit loses games because their secondary is the worst in the league. However, the Viking passing active has been injured and not looked good at all, so I believe Detroit will at least compete in this game. I'm taking Baltimore, how is Cleveland going to score any points?

I like twoblacks philosophy, picking against DET is so sketchy, they have the next BARRY SANDERS!..

for real tho, Favre is gunslingin for the loss from the looks of things there's no reason for me to think they can't lose that game due to a few too many turnovers

They won't. But Baltimore has a ton of future value with home games against Denver, Buffalo and Tampa Bay (plus road games against Carolina and Cleveland again, if you're so inclined).

Minnesota this week(3), when else are you going to use them? Save Baltimore for week 7.

Minnesota scares the hell out of me. They haven't done anything that would warrant them being a double-digit fave against a team that was a couple of breaks from going 2-0 against 2 decent teams.

I am more comfortable taking Minny at home against Arizona in Week 9 or Buffalo in Week 13 than against Detroit this weekend but that's just me.

Sydney Rice should be back by then and can only help Favre and the Vikes.

I went with Minnesota this week. Flashback to two years ago, I had them in a similar game against the Lions where they barely pulled out a 12-10 victory. Anyone else remember this one?

I was gonna go with Minny, went with NEP instead

getting NE out the way was the right play, their defense is ****ing ass they are going to fail somewhere down the road in a spot people don't expect

Yes and they won it on a questionable PI iirc.

Moving on with New England today across my pools.

Still early but for Week 4, I will consider either San Diego or New Orleans (divisional game be damned!)

I don't have Green Bay left but I am sure people who do will seriously consider using the Pack.

NO probably safest. I'll probably go with SD as I don't totally trust them vs. Denver/Oakland later.

In order of use: bears, raiders, vikings

This week leading early candidate is Packers. I do need to reconsider some future weeks first though, before locking that one up.

I'm thinking New Orleans will be the most popular play (~50%) followed by a split between San Diego and the people who haven't used Green Bay.

If you saved them this is the week you saved them for.

What about Atlanta? Niners are horrible and the Falcons don't have a lot of future value.

I actually think I'm going to save NO for later, wayyy later.

I'm goin to let the week playout for a bit but I have a prediction that is certainly 150% going to go against the KISS rules that I doubt any of you want to follow me on.
