Strange week. Philly, Carolina and Oakland are all about 2 to 1 favorites, which will probably be their best spots of the season.

I've got 5 entries in some pools, hmmmm

Lol @ Eagles - you deserve to lose.

this week is a big decision between a 'safe' pick or conserving a safe pick for a slightly riskier one.

i drew this graph to help people understand. the yellow is peyton and the maxima is the 2009 afc champpionship game. other line is eli. x axis is time and y axis is skill

the intersection point is september 19, 2010

coincidence?

At intersection point 9/19/2010 wouldn't that mean they will play at the same exact skill level and time, making the game come down to everyone else.

Addai, Wayne, Garcon, Clark, Freeney, Saturday
Bradshaw, Nicks, Smith, Strahan, Ron Dayne, Osi(isn't he still sittin the bench)

Colts Allstars beat out Giants in my book.. Stickin older bro

Packers are easily the best and safest pick.

Philly is a possibility, and Atlanta with Arizona playing an early game on the east coast but both are a bit too gambly

Packer's don't really have any super easy games for the rest of the season and there are plenty other really good teams til Week 16 that have easy games.
Easiest games are MIA, Det, Was, Atl, SF... none of these are even gimmes.

The next easiest Packer game is Week 4 at home against the Lions and even tho its the Lolions who knows, I'd rather pick Balt @ Pit while Big Ben still can't play and watches them get murdered blitz after blitz

giants have 15 starting defenders though so it'll be tough

i'm going to save the giants though bc they have better matchups in tough weeks and go with the browns this week in legend42s pool

No one likes Dallas at home against the Bears?

this.

assuming they are both equally likely to win (slight adv. to GB, but really it's inconsequential) wouldn't it be better to take the cowboys this week to save gb for later?

That's where I'm currently leaning as well. Week 4 doesn't look awesome if I can't take GB home against lions.

this is where I am leaning this week.....don't want to take GB with the masses. I wouldn't touch the Eagles either. Even with Hill the Lions are much improved this year and are at home.

I'm gambling this week and taking Raiders. Last week I had the Bears.

I typically don't think "saving teams" is as bad an idea as some do, but in this case it's meh imo. We're putting a lot of weight on preseason hype and opening day in thinking that GB is suddenly a vastly superior team than Dallas. Kinda the same thing with the Bears - I wasn't slobbing on Culter's knob like others were a year ago but he has a bad first year with a new team and it's like he's Jamarcus Russell now - it's just bizarre to me. The Lions game statistically wasn't that close despite the luckbox ending; there's no way their chances of an upset vs. Buffalo's is negligible.
Overreaction week imo.

packers have at least 6 more games where they should be more than 7 point favorites

week 3: bears (road) -7
week 4: lions (home) -14
week 8: jets (road) -17
week 13: 49ers(home) -10
week 14: lions (road) -10
week 17: bears (home) -14

only other good game cowboys got is against the lions, so cowboys would be the better pick unless you wanna wait until they play the lions

The Packers are going to be 17-point favorites on the road against the Jets? Wat?
NFL Survivor Picks Quote
09-15-2010 , 03:34 PM
don't see why they wouldn't

13-3 team vs a 5-11 team with no offense
NFL Survivor Picks Quote
09-15-2010 , 03:50 PM
OK, but they'll only be 10-point favorites at Detroit?
NFL Survivor Picks Quote
09-15-2010 , 03:52 PM
yes stafford should be back then + lions got a nice d-line + just traveling to detroit and seeing how horrible it is there might depress a lot of the players and take them off their game

detroit is probably a more balanced team than the jets. comparable d lines, jets have better corners, lions have better offense
