I had Titans picked all week but I'm very superstitious and I had a very wild dream all about the NFL last night.

I dreamt a bunch of games I think but the ones that stuck out and I remembered were that the Bears were dominating and were winning something like 35-3.

I also was dreaming later in that dream that the Eagles lost to the Packers.

But I also checked the stats and between the Bears and Lions the road team has a 4-1 record so just for safety I'm sticking with Chris Johnson and the west coast team losing at 1 pm on the east coast.

The Bears just look flat-out awful this year. I don't trust them one bit, at least not early on.

This is a pretty tough week imo; the only teams I could see myself picking are Tennessee and New England. I know the Bengals are talented, but I hate betting on Vince Young, and the Raiders aren't as bad as most people think. Am I crazy to take New England over Tennessee?

Yes, I actaully think Cinci may win this game. Although this is a tuff week, there are better options out there. I even like Dallas better than NE.

Dallas is a risky/bad pick in survivor imo. The Redskins are at home and much improved, and Romo sucks. I like Washington to win the game (if McNabb plays, which he will).

Maybe I'll just go with Tennessee. I really don't like any of the other options except them and New England, and I'm apparently the only person in the world who is even considering the Pats, so that's not a good sign.

I won't be playing NE this week because everyone and their mother is on NE in my pool. Could potentially knock out 60-70% of my 100+ entrants.

I also think they could lose.

I want to see a can't suck enough pool. Same survivor rules, but you have to pick a different loser each week.

We used to run one of those, starting in about week 6 or so, for everyone who had lost in the main pool. You had to pick a loser each week to survive. Got to be too much work to run 2 pools though when our main pool grew so big, so we gave it up. Here's the breakdown of teams we have in week 1 of our $10 survivor pool, aka "Zathras & Wubba's King of the Hill Pool". We actually have picks on 24 of 32 teams.

On to Week 2!

Da Bears didn't deserve to win the game but you have to catch the lucky breaks every now and then.

Next week I am looking at Green Bay, Philly (if Vick starts and Stafford not playing) and Atlanta.

I kind of love Philly this week for the sole reason that they have no more easy games for the rest of the season and it'd be a shame to waste a pick on GB this week.

Also it doesn't really matter who is QBing because if the Eagles D plays as well as they did yesterday against ARodgers then Shaun Hill doesn't stand a ****ing chance

they're brothers going in the opposite direction, this time they switch positions

i drew this graph to help people understand. the yellow is peyton and the maxima is the 2009 afc champpionship game. other line is eli. x axis is time and y axis is skill

the intersection point is september 19, 2010

coincidence?

Point taken but for this type of one-and-done Suicide Pools (unless your Pool still allows buy-back after Week 2 which I have never run into), I think better choices are available, namely the Packers, Falcons, Eagles and perhaps the Cowboys.

I am more comfortable taking the Giants in Week 6 when they host the Leos (especially if Stafford is not playing then which is the rumour right now, out for 2-6 weeks)

I don't get the love for a mediocre Philly team on the road especially when there are clearly better selections available. Like half the board.

My take on the Eagles is this is possibly the best spot to take them, looking at the rest of their schedule.

True, people don't need to take the Eagles at all in Survivor Pool this year but you can make the same arguments on any given week against any given team.

The Eagles also just came off a loss (same with the Lions mind you) so I don't think there would be any letdown or look-ahead factor.

I agree with you the Eagles this year is not as good as in the past. I also think they are better than the Lions without Stafford and provide an alternative for Week 2 outside of the usual suspects.
