Interesting scenario with the Jets winning in Indy today. They win next week against Cincy and they are in.

Denver also needs to win next week against K.C. as well.

I suppose those 2 will be the biggest picks next week. I don't think a lot of folks have taken either the Jets or Broncos until now.

Not sure if San Diego will rest starters but that's another choice although it will not be a popular one because people may have taken the Chargers earlier.

Guess we have to see what lines the books throw out later on this week.

Would you take the Chargers or the Bears?

I was leaning Denver but with Brandon Marshall confirmed OUT, think I will take a flyer on Sanchez and the Jets.

I will also put some coins on Cincy + points. Hope to rake it in both ways if Jets win and doesn't cover. My pools finish at the end of the regular season and don't have any sort of tie-breakers so 'tis is it.

Good luck to all survivors.

Obviously i know Rivers is not playing more than a couple of series. If Rivers was playing the whole game then this wouldn't be a fair question. So do you think the Bears are definitely going to win? Or do the chargers stand little chance without some key players. BTW Volek is a good QB

Trust Pinny and take SD if you have to choose between those two. Neither one is "definitely going to win".

Not sure if you still have the Bills available or not but judging by the Pinny ML, Buffalo is quite on par with the Jets or the Broncos to win straight up.

Caldwell pulled the starters last week in the friendly confines of the Indy dome, I don't think he wants them to play extensively in the terrible weather in upstate New York.

If it were up to me, I would rather go with Buffalo or San Francisco than either Chicago or San Diego.

buffalo is definitely an option. I used san fran already. I'm avoiding both Denver and Jets, cause i think both are not good and most people are taking them this week, and since the season ends this week it makes math sense to take another team with a slightly less chance of winning in the hopes you could win a larger piece of the pie. We currently have 24 left in our pool. So i'm trying to give myself the best chance to win big

Nevermind i took buffalo in week 2. So im not taking jets or broncos. So its between the Bears, Chargers, or maybe Titans? I took houston, and baltimore as well. What about Carolina? I could take them

This is pretty much what I am doing. I am taking Pittsburgh this week and passing over Buffalo, SF, Jets and Denver, which are all still available to me.

Here is the breakdown for a local, high-stake Suicide Pool ($200 entry fee, 800 participants to begin). Only 50 is left and they have to have their picks in by Friday afternoon.

In alphabetical order

1 Arizona Cardinals

19 Baltimore Ravens

1 Carolina Panthers

14 Denver Broncos

2 Houston Texans

4 Minnesota Vikings

1 San Diego Chargers

7 San Francisco 49ers

1 Tennessee Titans

Some real head-scratchers in there i.e. Arizona, Minnesota, and Tennessee but I guess they know what they are doing hence they are still around. Good distribution of picks. I am surprised to see nobody on the Jets.

Hope it helps!

I'm one of 3 that is 16-0 so far.

We all have the Broncos and Jets Available. But I'm leaning toward the Titan or the Carolina Panthers; Saints are sitting Brees, Thomas and Harper so far.

my Available Picks:

Broncos vs K.C.
Jet vs Bengals
Panthers vs Saints
Titans @ Seahawks
Faclons @ Rams
Steelers vs Miami
Patriots @ Texans

Give me your 2 cents???

KC knocked off a bunch so I will split the pot with a few others for my big pool

I will go into the playoff in the smaller pool. Fun stuff.

Hope you folks made it out alright. This year has been somewhat an anomaly with this many people left at this time but I will take what I can get.

One guy left in my pool undefeated with me having one loss (thank you Saints vs Bucs) and I came in with the trusty Bills. He took Denver and we're back to even. We decided to continue in with the playoffs on our own for the pool. Gotta check and see who, if anyone, is left for either of us. I was assuming if one of us has used all teams in a given weekend we have to take a loss, right?

Question for the folks who need to pick a team (assuming with a clean slate) in the playoff: Is there any strategic advantage by picking team(s) on Sunday, seeing that you will have a good idea how much you will get out of the Pot, win or lose, because some of your *opponents* will either move on or get eliminated after Saturday games?

It will also be easier for you to figure out how much you should hedge, if the situation calls for it.

Picks should remain anonymous until the Sunday deadline.

It's time to bump this thread... we need a good spot to discuss Survivor picks this season, and the less clutter the better, imo.

I think the Bears/Titans/Giants will probably be the 3 biggest picks for Week 1, maybe Chargers and Patriots to a lesser extent.

Looking at the Titans as well, they have a pretty brutal schedule this year and Oakland is playing the early time slot.

Yeah, I'm starting to think that Da Bears might be as good, if not a better pick than Tennessee.
