That doesn't say anything about displaying all picks at 1pm. Also brutal for all who picked a winning team and gaining 20% ev, and having that vanish away. I guess the 10% pool add-on mitigates that somewhat.

Looks like that link covers it all but I received the following response from the marketing team (below). While it’s nice that they acknowledged that they messed up, this doesn’t fix anything. I’m actually punished for doing well for week 1 (my EV goes down despite the prize pool increase). Much more importantly, this doesn’t fix the main problem that picks aren’t visible at lock. Nitrogen can still pick retroactively for a nitrogen sponsored entry in each pool and guarantee they win. They could triple the prize pool and it wouldn’t matter if they know they will win… curious as to your thoughts, but this doesn’t solve anything IMO and I’m planning on asking for a refund and just not going to play this year.

We dropped the ball in this year’s NFL Survivor Pool with technical issues and after mulling over multiple options, we decided these are the best and fairest changes for all participants:

-Week 1 as a bye week for all players
-Pools reopen for selection of Week 1 teams

We are aware of the inconvenience this has caused you. As part of our acknowledgment of the matter, we added a 10% increase in prizes across all of our buy-in pools from the original guaranteed prize.

You can read all about the changes in our blog post: https://blog.nitrogensports.eu/promo...survivor-pool/

Regarding the picks reveal. This is the intended behavior of the "picks reveal" this season. This is a more fair setting for the participants involved.

That’s because everyone will have the same timing and opportunity in knowing their competitors’ picks, week by week. All picks will be revealed at the same time, which is at the deadline of each week.

We appreciate your feedback on this matter but we will stick with our plan to have this feature throughout the entire season. Thank you.

Yea this doesn't resolve anything and like you said my ev drops even with added the prize money. Going to request a refund and move on.

If they're not changing the rule that shows all users picks at 1:00 PM EST (like literally every other pool on earth) then these pools will continue to have 0 credibility.

I am glad that they confirmed I wasn't crazy and was able to edit my entry after post at least.

I guess the solution is best for the house accounts which picked NE.

If they rigged it then they wouldn’t lose. So under that theory it’s just because they were caught and need to find a different way to rig in future.

I’m more inclined towards incompetence. Probably programmed the wrong lock time on Jacksonville. Similar things have happened in past like with the London games.

Well, I'm glad they did something, but as other posters have stated the added prize money isn't enough to make up for the lost EV for picking correctly in week 1... and not revealing picks at kickoff is super shady.

Ok so that is 20 mins of my life I am never getting back having to go back into every nitrogen entry from week 1, unlock, redo with some crap team, resave, for multiple entries etc etc.

Sigh.

FYI I bet a good % of people have no idea this new rule even exists.

I would not have had I not been on this thread.

Yes, last year when they instituted bye weeks due to covid many people still made real picks thereby wasting future value.

Normally I'd agree, but in that case why not just show picks at lock-time going forward? If they did that, I'd happily play out the rest of the season and ignore the value I lost from giving everyone a week 1 bye. Realistically we’ll probably get that value back because as other people have mentioned, a lot of people won’t even be aware of this change

I'm guessing they got a lot of complaints over the years from people about missing the deadline. If you are going to allow picks to be made up until kickoff of any game then you can't show the picks that have been already made.

Its a poor decision and outcome but the outcome results from the decision to get rid of the 1pm ET deadline.

I just don't think knowing the pick distribution for games which you can no longer choose is a material advantage. Knowing the pick distribution is a huge advantage, but that assumes you can pick any team

In the endgame there are numerous scenarios where it would be a huge advantage.

From Nitrogen...

Hey Michael.

We dropped the ball in this year’s NFL Survivor Pool's first week with technical issues and after mulling over multiple options, we decided these are the best and fairest changes for all participants:

Let us know if you have any other concerns.
Thanks.
Kevin

Nitrogen's response to my complaint email:

Hello,

First of all, thank you for reaching out.

We hear you. We understand your frustration.

But at the same time, we are going to be firm regarding the picks reveal. this is the intended behavior of the "picks reveal" this season. This is a more fair setting for the participants involved.

That’s because everyone will have the same timing and opportunity in knowing their competitors’ picks, week by week. All picks will be revealed at the same time, which is at the deadline of each week.

Thank you

Terrible decision making on their end. Just lock all picks at 1pm (or earlier for TNF) and reveal then. Every single other Survivor pool operates this way. Why are they trying to reinvent the wheel here.

I don't think I completely understand what's going on here. When they say:

> All picks will be revealed at the same time, which is at the deadline of each week.

What exactly do they mean by "deadline"? Kickoff of the MNF game?

EDIT: OK, I read the rules closer and see that that's likely what they mean, since they're no longer using a blanket 1pm Sunday deadline for the pool. Hmm.

As I've been saying, the problem is the deadline. Our complaints fall on deaf ears because if they allow picks to be changed up until kickoff then they CANNOT reveal other picks early.

We should have been focused on getting them to change the deadline back to 1pm eastern kickoff.

Following up on my previous post, how would you play a pool with ~7K left this week. Week 5, 15, and likely dependent on remaining entries 16, 17, and 18 will be double pick weeks.

Given that would you exclude taking the Browns/Buccaneers?

Browns host Raiders week 15. Though the Raiders are feisty the Browns would be around a 7-8 point favorite that week and really should win that game. They would be very valuable as team 1 of 2 in that double pick scenario.

Buccaneers have the Falcons again week 13 and the Jets week 17. They seem like a team people will use before those weeks to get by.

What about the Packers? Packers are down this year but have Bengals Week 5 (double picks), home Vikings week 17, and at Lions Week 18. Who knows what week 18 would entail but those are compelling matchups as of today.

If you say "I'm not taking the Browns/Buccaneers/Packers" you are then left with the Seahawks and Patriots. The Patriots have the Texans Week 5 (a double pick week).

That leaves the Seahawks who have the Jaguars Week 8 at home and the Texans week 14. Now I suspect the Seahawks would be highly picked Week 14 since the majority of the pool wouldn't take them this week.

Does that change things?

Now that leaves Denver playing a road game. That may be the best of the bunch here but they do host the Lions week 14. Will they be highly picked that week? Probably. So do you take them this week and pray?

Nice summary, I'm liking Seattle this week and Washington tonight.

Refund denied. Just going through the pools and it looks like 30%-40% didn't change their picks so pretty big ev pick up there. This is a pr nightmare for them. These entries are gonna realize what happened later on and be super upset. Just a bad look for nitrogen all around. Last year playing this here. Enough gamble with btc prices don't need shady behavior on top. Gl everyone.

Took some sprinkles of Wash in my pools which require 43573475345234 picks/doubles etc----never in doubt . Between last night and the TB luckbox last week I have already tapped in a decent amount of my luck allocation for the season----Skill Game lol.

Just waiting for the next Nitrogen rule change.
