NHL is only moneyline and over/under. betting the spread is hard to predict.

Tonight

NJ ML (-135) at DAL

only game worth betting.

Hedberg is in net for NJ and he has been solid, Kovalchuk and Parise have been red hot lately and their overall defense is looking good.

NBA PRESEASON

New Orleans at Memphis
It must be hard for NO to scramble with training of last minute changes & then heading to mem for a game that they wouldn't like to play, but it's a good thing as it's a only a pre season & can make a working in progress at the same time.

Memphis dont have to use starting five to win this game, actually they can use their 3rd unit it would be more than enough to win.

Projection: 104-89 mem

Take Memphis -8.5
Take Over 184.5 Points

Cleveland at Detroit

Projection: 99-89
Take Under 193.5 Points

Cgy/Fla o5.5
Pit -1.5 (+210)
Tor ml +115
Grand Salami u28 (5 games)

im betting -200 on the blackhawks...i feel like this is a pretty sure thing and to fix my week betting a nice amount on it. Im not a big hockey follower but it just seems like for such mismatch -200 isnt that bad of a price... thoughts?
12-16-2011 , 08:42 PM
the -200 doesnt really mean anything. the hawks last 3 games decided in ot/so.

Damn I totally forgot about preseason, too caught up in football. I wasted a valuable day in fixing my NBA models. I'm actually running 2 of them concurrently to see how they compare as I get the hang of this.

I ran through today's games and here is what I like:

Bucks +5 (1.5u)
Nets +5 (1u)

I like the over in the Nets/Knicks but not enough to bet. I'm still learning how to calculate edge what I think my edge is.

If you don't want me clogging your thread with this I certainly won't. I'll probably just stick to posting which of your picks I agree with.

Todays picks:

Ana @ Wpg - Anahiem played last night in Chicago and lost 4-1 and is near the bottom of the league and is 2-7 since the coaching switch vs Winnipeg with a great home record and coming off a 1-0 loss vs Washington earlier this week seems like a simple pick.

Picked over 5 for the NJ @ Mtl game. NJ is over 8 of last 11 on the road and their offense seems to be picking up their offense. Montreal just fired their coach and it will be their first game under the interim head coach that will be with them for the rest of the season.

today

TB @ CBJ - ML (EVEN) - Dont see CBJ keeping up with tampas offense.

NJ @ MTL - ML (+125)Watched NJ last night since i bet on them, they looked really good, even though their playing back to back and on the road i dont see MTL with a coaching change beating them.

STL @ NSH - ML (-110). STL is 8-1-1 over its last 10 matchups. Nuff said.

NYR @ PHX - ML (EVEN)

No games for me today going to focus on NFL since there isn't really a good hockey line imo.

Oklahoma City at Dallas
Take Over 194.5 Points

like Chi -110 (Pitt injuries to letang, staal really hurt them)

also Winn + Fla as small faves

Detroit at Cleveland
A couple days ago Cleveland shoot 35.2% FG & 3-19 x 3's and yet managed to win by 4 points. at home thing will be different and better for them by judging from last year too; they were off to a fast start.

Cleveland -3.5

Washington at Philadelphia
Rashard Lewis is showing up to just collect his pay check, there's no motivation for anything else these days. Nick Young & John Wall should combine for a good double-double but still the Wizards and these ugly uniform is in trouble, as in Philly every man and his dogs can score double digits.

Take over 188.5 Points

Phoenix at Denver
Entertaining basketball by two run and guns teams.

Take over 206.5 Points

Golden State at Sacramento
In their last met, both teams were just average 73% at the line & 46% FG and yet put a total 203 points on the board. We should see a solid double-double from Marcus Thornton & Tyreke Evans, Monta Ellis, Stephen Curry and Dorell Wright.

Take over 203.5 Points
SACRAMENTO +3

Wow, I've been running through these games on my model and in that time period the Cavs went from -3.5 to -4.5 and I still like it there, though not as much.

This is also interesting:

The 4 picks you posted above are all in line with my own model as far as value, we agree on all 4 of these. Sweet!

The Washington/Philadelphia game Over 188 in model is a super strong pick (nearly twice as strong as the rest of them) so I will be placing a large bet on this one today.
