Upset I didn't follow my read and bet ortiz. Scoggins can be competitive with anyone in the weight class. Going to take a few years before he reaches his potential and starts winning those fights consistently.
Thought that was a bad stoppage. Would have been okay earlier. but he was in a relatively safe position there, and was given no time to improve position.

Don't think UFC can get away w/ selling more B.J. Penn fights. He simply has nothing left. Only delusional fans or masochists would watch.
Penn's performance was pathetic he just...didn't do anything. Hang em the **** up as a long time fan sick of seeing him just go out there grab his paycheck and bounce.
BJ's performance looked so bad, I just felt sorry for him. I mean, it's not like he was doing decent till his cardio ran out. He was just bad from the beginning, and in the whole 3 rounds he had like 1 semi decent combo that he hit Edgar with, but that's all. This was the equivalancy of Ronda laying a beating on Davis except that BJ Penn is more durable than Davis so he lasted longer. Judging by his performance, I don't think he would have much of a shot against the top 5-10 of the fw division. Everyone would just be so much faster and athletic than him. If he was 30 years old and faced Edgar, it would be a competitive match like their first one.
It's a shame he didn't get like a last easier matchup, where he'd struggle to beat the top 15 guy but still beat him, and it would have served him as a reminder that he cannot beat the likes of Edgar today.
Scoggins lost cost me a winning card, ended up down 1u and change for the card picking up 1.5u on Edgar, 1u on the Drysdale under, 0.5u on Martins and losing 3u on Scoggins and 1.4u on Lima
Doesn't fit with his character, Edgar is the nice guy underdog with heart. Would have got people talking though.
Edgar vs Swanson would make sense assuming Mendes/Aldo is still happening since apparently Aldo's only out for 45 days, but if I was the UFC I wouldn't want to kill another contender, their ideal order for title shots is probably Mendes then Swanson then Edgar then Poirier then McGregor assuming none of them lose before that time
Actually now that I put it like that, assuming Mendes vs Aldo happens in the next 3-4 months or so, it would make sense to give Edgar a fight with Lamas that he should win to keep him busy and start building a win streak worthy of another title shot without risking a contender as I assume they want some combination of Edgar/Swanson/McGregor/Poirier for the next two shots
I'd love to see Faber move back to 145 to fight Edgar if he won't fight Dillashaw for the belt with a win streak although the Faber/Cruz 3 rubber match would be a great return fight for Cruz too if he isn't going straight to a title fight because of the layoff, Dillashaw has the next 6-8 months occupied with the Barao rematch then the Assuncao rematch if he gets through Barao anyway. Cruz/Dillashaw would be awesome too though especially if he beats Faber in the rubber match in his return. Cruz/Barao too if Barao can recapture the title. Honestly I don't expect Assuncao to beat any of Faber/Cruz/Barao/Dillashaw and don't think he beat Dillashaw the first time. Pretty sure Edgar beats Faber but it's a big fight for both guys and keeps them out of the respective title pictures for now while other guys get their shot. I do fully expect Edgar to fight for the title again at FW and think he deserves it given how close the Aldo/Edgar fight was but a few other guys deserve the shot first.
