Weidman is very good. Anderson Silva is Anderson Silva.

Anderson Silva wins.

Unless silva is injured and cant train properly....

I was planning my biggest ever bet on this fight 15U silva but rib injury rumours have put a stop to that.

Just stuck a load on Silva. I honestly feel like it's free money. Now obviously someone can point to this post when Weidman wins and laugh at me but I honestly see no signs whatsoever that point to Silva losing this fight.

I still take Silva with a rib injury over Weidman any day of the week. People point to the grappling like the first Sonnen fight, which was a fight where the guy was on PEDs and still couldn't win. That is literally the best argument anyone can really come up with at this stage. Unless you want to sound like the UFC marketing machine and come up with the sort of crap they did with Silva/Bonnar and Silva/Okami.

Sonnen isn't a finisher, weidman would likely have finished silva in 2 or 3rd round in that fight.

I agree Silva should win in any normal situation. However when one fighter has a potential serious injury a few weeks before the fight that's not the guy to bet the house on (wait for a safer bet on another card).

Sherdog loves to explode at the hint of a rumor. I haven't seen anything at all there about this one. So obviously nothing to worry about. And I'm sure if there is a serious injury, Silva's not gonna take it lightly.

It was on yahoo news, twitter and mma.tv

The denials have now come out but apparently it came from the medical centre who examined his rib.

http://www.MixedMartialArts.com/news...-injury-rumor/

I know you guys already have money on him but seriously why add units to a fighter who may have a serious injury before a dangerous fight

In other news Tim Sylvia just managed to miss weight at H/W for One FC

Anonymous source at the medical center that has been denied by all parties.

If Silva isn't training it'll leak out, if he is training then he's in good enough shape to beat Weidman

I think if Silva is confident enough to fight he's in good enough shape to win.

If Silva is out i'll be very sad but hopefully Belfort stays in shape and is ready to fill in just in case

Every time an injury is leaked it's denied by the camp to give it time to heal and Dana to sell more tickets for the fight (Gus example).

I've known fighters go into fights with broken ribs and broken hands (literally fighting one handed) for the sake of the show.

All I'm saying is this is no longer the bet it was a few days ago,

btw when you heading to town?

Anyone else surprised Ellenberger currently +180 vs Rory?

disagree, Silva is a pretty amazing grappler in his own right, and his defensive Ju-Jitsu is world class. Weidman obvs is ahead on the grappling department, but i don't think he is ahead enough to be able to finish Silva when on top...i actually see more of a chance of a silva sub in the late rounds than Weidman subbing silva when ontop.

don't think Ellenberger gets nearly enough credit, and Rory's hype train is out of whack... +180 is some pretty good value

Not really. He fades in round 3 and sometimes in round 2.

I was thinking more a strikes stoppage, sonnen landed 100's of strikes in that fight but has pillow fists. Given the same opportunity weildman would have put silvas face through the mat.

Rory can be accused of the same thing (Condit) and seems to be having frequent injury issues in training.

Part of the reason sonnen landed so many shots is because he didn't power up on them though, silva has proven how good he is at not taking much dmg from his back.

Think the only legitimate concern here is a 5 round dec.

I know this is the mma thread, but Mayweather is available at -200 for his sept 14th fight with Canelo i read. Probably value in that.

Don't watch boxing, but have been told by some friends that follow closely that there is definitely value in that. I tossed 3u on it around -210

Adding 1u each on Frankie/Oliveira under 2.5r -110, and Lamas/KZ under 2.5r +115.

Kinda like Siver/Swanson goes decision -135, any thoughts?

i can see that fight ending in a finish, Swanson has the ability to KO siver, and the way Swanson fights combined with how well rounded Sivers standup is, could easily lead to a Siver KO victory...and a Swanson Sub isn't to far out there either.

that being said, don't think i will pull the trigger on Swanson/Siver ITD, to much of a tossup.

Putting bets down on Hendo/Shad:

3.6u on goes to decision -180
0.5u on Hendo by decision +365

Rashad has a slight edge to win overall, but think the best player prop value is in Henderson by decision, mainly because I think he wins by decision more often than he wins ITD. Overall though, I think the fight goes to decision 75% - 80% of the time, really like -180 there.

Regarding Swanson/Siver, if it stays standing I quite like it to go the distance, both guys are tough to KO. Both have sub skills and are susceptible to being subbed though, that's the only scary thing about -135. Eh, might just wait and see if it gets better.

Love Ellenberger +180

Fan of the Hendo/Rashad goes distance prop, will probably play it as well.

Disagree about Siver/Swanson though, think Swanson KO is most likely result, don't see how you can say they are both difficult to KO, as Siver has been rocked/finished multiple times.

I agree Silva may not be 100% but I don't think he'll fight if he's hurt to the extent he doesn't think he can win and I believe if Silva thinks he can win he will.

I get in on June 6. Does Palms have a viewing party planned for 161 or dont they do that anymore? If not Lagrasse or w/e the Palazzo sportsbook is called should, u gonna be around?

Pretty sure the palms will have a viewing party for 161, if not it will be shown in all the sports books.
