Dias and Cariaso all day @ those prices

Will wait for Pinny lines I guess, but i'll be going Dias, Cariaso and Belfort on this card. I think all 3 are favs and all 3 are currently dogs.

Other lines all opened where expected pretty much

I actually think Dias is probably the best bet on the card, i'd cap him and Belfort around -150 and Cariaso at -120 or something

+151 on Dias and +131 Cariaso right now, pretty sick imo. Formiga came into the UFC with a ton of hype but looked terrible in his debut and Cariaso is always underrated imo (I had him up 20-18 when he got randomly subbed in r3 in an unlikely spot vs the current number one contender).

Dias looked really good vs Alcantara, I wouldn't be surprised if his fight with Lentz looks like Maia vs Fitch and he 30-27's Lentz outgrappling him

Got a half unit each in on Cariaso -105 and Dias -115 bout an hour ago.
Dias back up to +115 on 5d, adding 1u.
Also putting 1u on Dunham/RDA goes distance -185.

Any possibility Camozzi outgrinds Jacare?
MMA Thread Quote

Possible IMO which is why I'm thinking about a tiny bet on decision at +600. But Jacare is definitely better everywhere.

Yeah, I mean, Camozzi is slow as hell so Jacare should have no problem, but Camozzi is pretty durable and wouldn't be imaginable if Jacare slows down after r1 and Camozzi can pick it up. But most likely outcome is Camozzi being outclassed.

I guess i'll find out this weekend why people are so big on Belfort in this fight.

Is marijuana considered a performance enahncing drug? If you get the hell beat out of you for a living, most doctors in Cally would presribe you some funk.

More likely you'll learn why odds makers favor Rockhold despite everyone and their brother being on Vitor.

He has only lost to Anderson and Jones and has better wins than Rockhold, it's in Brazil, he's on TRT and he has very fast hands and 5 rounds to hurt Rockhold and finish him (although realistically 2-3 rounds)

While Rockhold's a good grinder, I don't think he can handle Vitor more than half the time, so Vitor as a small dog seems pretty attractive

I remember we had this same discussion before the Vitor/AJ fight and while people complain about bad standups, THIS FIGHT IS ALSO IN BRAZIL

It being 5 rounds should work in Rockholds favor.

Brazil uses american judges, no?

The referees are also swayed by the vocal crowd booing the non-Brazilians.

A lot more controversial decisions go in favour of the hometown fighter, although it's more important for the standups in the event Belfort gets taken down since if Belfort wins it's by TKO a pretty high % of the time, again see Belfort/AJ

I'd cap this as a pick'em fight outside Brazil, or lean Belfort in Brazil.

AJ is a bad comparison since AJ had a really bad weight cut and basically had 1 min to finish Belfort. After his small offense, he was completely drained and just gave up with having no conditioning at all.

aj is also kind of a bad fighter. well... he's certainly not elite.

AJ isn't kind of bad. If he had stayed in the UFC, he would have been a top 20 guy easily. The biggest thing stopping him was his cardio and weight cut issues. He had the wrestling to shutdown guys like Hardy, and he had the standup, not the technique but the overall power to finish lesser standup guys, beside he was really athletic, with long reach.

top20 at what weight?

what makes him athletic? He's really stiff, kind of slow.
MMA Thread Quote

I don't remember him being stiff or slow when he was at welterweight. He didn't look so good though at heavyweight when he fought Arlovski, I'll give u that.

He's always looked stiff. All he ever had was power.

There's a reason I was all over Belfort in that fight...Anthony Johnson kind of sucks. I agree with kingofcool, guy was overhyped by miles. Good power, serviceable wrestling, horrid cardio. Nothing to write home about for sure. Koscheck embarrassed him, that was a clear referendum that he was never going to be a top fighter.

Rockhold is a totally different animal, this guy is a legit athlete and went toe to toe with Jacare with 5 rounds. Pretty sure Jacare would hustle Belfort on the mat if they fought, his takedown defense ain't the greatest.
