Anyone else think current Tito would beat Anthony Johnson?

Can't wait for the UFC to cut a LHW who can go and own him in WSOF. The guy tilts me for some reason (probably the missing weight by 12 pounds and fighting at WW despite missing weight consistently). In a year he's gone from fighting Charlie Brenneman who has just moved to LW to fighting Andrei Arlovski.

hehe the only problem is that tito has to fight with cracked skulls and stuff :P and it's an open secret now that you have to hit his body in order to stop him... but if AJ cannot put him away fast he would get owned in the 2nd/3rd round since tito usually has ok stamina And agreed about Rumbleweight... just sick...

Couture is terrible, KJ Noons worked him over and he got a gift decision. Pearson is gonna stomp him.

Thoughts on Shogun -160 versus Little Nog?

Seems like an overvaluing of the Evans victory in which Rashad didn't do anything. Not sure how relevant the fight from 8 years ago was but it's hard for me to believe that Shogun is so cooked that he doesn't take this one easily.

AJ would stomp Tito Ortiz these days. Maybe not the old Tito, but this Tito foldes under strikes ridic easy. AJ strong sides has been his above average chin, his power, wrestling when he needs to but he has very bad cardio and misses weight more than he makes it.

I doubt his wrestling is to be considered strong at 205+.

Hm... the pride fight actually was a razor close back and forth fight IIRC. Could've gone either way... and I think Lil Nog hasn't received that much punishment as his brother has (a few bouts with Fedor will do that to you lol) and in comparison to his brother he actually really has quite nice boxing. He usually mostly struggles with wrestlers... which is why the Evans fight was quite surprising (mental fog?!)...

I'm not sure why he took so much time off before the Evans fight, but I actually like him here against Shogun at the current odds, although Shogun is working with Freddie Roach. Shogun has alternating wins and losses since 2009 and I mean he had big problems putting away Brandon Vera.

I would see the chances about even?

I like Shogun over Lil'Nog but it's not an amazing spot or anything

I'd say true line -180 or so maybe?

Knowing that wouldn't change my bet. If it was to do with Shogun attempting to severely improve his cardio then that would definitely make me take notice.

hm well... it might make a difference since lil nog is primarily a boxer... maybe freddie sees some glaring holes and is drilling some nice sets to take advantage of those... maybe would've been not as important if the opponent wasn't a boxer...

Obviously I'm not going to discount it by any means but I just hope Shogun can sort out his conditioning because he's one of my favourite fighters. Not sure how much longer that will be the case though

Hoping he will sort out his conditioning this late in his career is a but much to hope for.

Manny Gamburyan Out With Injury, Nik Lentz Takes His Place at UFC on FX 8 (vs Hacran Dias) - May 18.

It just occurred to me that Manny has outlasted Karo Parisyan (in the UFC) by over two years already and Manny is the older one.

Whew tough matchup for Lentz, Hacran Dias looked like he could grapple a good bit in his last fight.

In a five rounder i'd be worried for Shogun but in 3 rounds I feel like he'll get the best of Lil'Nog a lot

Follow up on Shogun-Nog: If Rashad doesn't play patty cake for three rounds, is the line still this tight?

Likewise, I mean, other than losing to Jones and Silva he hasn't lost since Pride so... what? Worries that he's off TRT maybe? idk

Rockhold is a great athlete, way better conditioned and has surprisingly sharp standup for a dude so young in his career. Dude's chin seemed solid against Jacare too. I definitely favor him over Belfort if this gets past round 2.

+1

I scored that 30-27 Noons 29-28 at wurst

This is personal, Dana is sending out a message by feeding young Couture to Ross the boss.

Pretty sure that some of the guys from the pride days would disagree about those comments...

haha in no way am I having the same view... just found it an interesting way to "promote" shogun lol... and pride with soccer kicks was a whole different animal... I think the pride match with lil nog would've probably gone the other way if there wasn't soccer kicks allowed... I think that was a huuuge part of shoguns game.
