It's not the same because Edgar/Maynard was a tie, while Edgar/Penn and Shogun/Machida were obvious missed decisions where nearly everybody scored the fight for the guy who "lost," while I would estimate that 70% of fans and media scored this fight for Condit.

Anyone else to see Condit wreck Johny Hendricks or Ellenberger II if Ellenberger beats Sanchez? I feel like that would make a solid main on an international card or an excellent co-main on a major card like JDS/Reem if they want to try and do 750k+ buys again and it keeps Condit active while he's waiting for GSP to be healthy.

GSP wants Nick Diaz even if it's not for the belt apparently, that would sell a LOT of PPVs in a 'GSP hates Diaz so much he's willing to forfeit the title to fight him' way They'll do the unification bout with GSP's first fight back though.

Just saw the article. So the whiny crybaby gets his rematch. Would be nice if it's on in Vegas while i'm there for WSOP but it'll probably be before that.

Beat him into retirement please Condit. I want to see Condit leave Nick lying on the floor this time so he has nothing to whine about and i'll be betting Condit again if he isn't a significant favourite. I kinda feel like Condit's going to finish him this time.

Apparently Condit's getting paid a lot for the rematch, he deserves it, and should be paid more than Diaz if he's going to give him the undeserved rematch. Good to see Condit making some money though, he deserves it.

i don't think Condit wrecks ellenberger, no. maybe hendricks depending on how he utilize his wrestling for that fight (hendricks that is). I haven't been very impressed with it so far.

in my opinion Condit is close to a flip vs most of the top10 guys. Most, not all.

Considering he's pretty much fought all the top wrestlers in the division except for GSP(I know he doesn't come from a wrestling background, but has one of the best mma wrestling for sure) and Kos, his gameplan has to be to stand with them which imo is a very intelligent thing to do considering that the standup is often the wrestlers weak point and because hendricks standup is better than most of the wrestler at ww.

I actually don't hate the Condit vs Diaz rematch just because you never know how long GSP is going to take. Another thing is that this may be the start of an awesome trilogy along with the fact that it's going to be really easy to promote this fight.

This guy sums up the problems with a rematch well.

Good news is, rumors that Diaz failed drug test and is gonna get popped for weed again so hopefully that scuttles this.

Hopefully he gets like a one year suspension.

Anyone who thinks that fight wasn't close is half brain dead IE Swoop. Almost anyone who watches it a 2nd time agrees that Nick won the fight, this includes Joe Rogan, Pat Miletich, Royce Gracie, etc etc and those are only guys who have stated that publicly. Remember, without octagon control and aggression there would be no fight. If this was a real fight in the street or wherever we would be watching Condit throw a leg kick then run around a car or building and come back and try again. I can understand why weak people don't like Diaz but he is way more entertaining then watching a Greg Jackson hit and run gameplan... fight already.

This ain't street fights. If this was street fights, there would be ball kicking, scratching of eyes, no gloves, hair pulling and all that ****. So stop comparing it to a streetfight.

However, if anyone rewatches the fight you can clearly see this isn't as easy to judge considering r1 and 2 might as well been 10-9 in favor of Diaz and depending on how you judge the fitfh round, u could arguably give it to him.

That is the whole problem with the 10-9 system, it's way to broad. You can almost justify anything and flip a coin for either guy in close fights.

pretty sure condit could knock nick out if he put his mind to it. He just decided to fight safe cause he knew diaz would have no idea how to counter. which is strange seeing as how he is suppose to be the most elite boxer in mma. So you would think he would know how to use angles and cut of the ring. Instead he cries when the other kid refuses to play the way he thinks he should play.

Good luck KO'ing Diaz, only way he loses due to tko is if he gets cut badly like Sanchez did in the BJ Penn fight. Besides Kickboxing/thaiboxer > boxing. Any good kickboxer would destroy Floyd Mayweather if it was K1 rules or w/e. Now put Condit and Diaz in the boxing ring and see who wins, Condit would lose a pretty clear decision if not getting tko'ed.
Also they're not fighting in a ring, they're fighting in a cage and it's lot more difficult cutting off someone with good movement.

Agree, unfortunately it's nothing UFC can do. The judging is something they can't affect.

I have no interest in a rematch between Condit and Diaz. I gotta say a lot of the cards lately have been lacking. Some of the headliners aren't even good enough for co-mainevents IMO

This is an interesting thought, could they overload the casual fans with mediocre cards? I can def see a trend of some capable fighters who could start to implement gameplans to win decisions. This could result in the casual viewer turning away from the sport due to a lack of brawls and KO's.

MMA is the future of fighting sports and the UFC is a strong brand that is only going to get stronger and stronger. People have always loved fighting and MMA is just getting more n more viewers whereas boxing has stagnated/ on a downward path. Yes, some fights are going to be boring, just like some boxing matches have been boring even when boxing was the most populare.
