Re: MMA Thread

Can i get Sakai as well?

Have to fade the Reem at these odds, it's close though.

Re: MMA Thread

sakai was tired as hell in the 4th and 5th.

people rag on his chin, but that high-shell defense Reem has is really really good. like the announcers said not much countering but you cant really land anything on him either.

throughout that fight he actually received very few strong strikes, he blocked like 80%+ of them in the slo-mo. Never really rocked, those flurries didnt do much except look good.

was a fun fight to watch he really showed his experience to stop a man whos only really looked good in rounds 1-2. Also reems gnp is so lethal, one of the best at HW for sure.

Re: MMA Thread

A long time UFC vet like OSP is supposed to win fights like this. Weird to see Menifield fighting someone as tough as OSP after losing to Devin Clark. UFC matchmaking is unintentionally burying him.

Sakai was the tougher matchup imo, but glad to see Overeem was able to execute his game plan. The lackadaisical first 2 rounds had me worried.

Pereira is a beast with top level talent but I'd like to see less show and more results from him. That showman **** ain't gonna fly when he fights a good wrestler.

Re: MMA Thread

The main and co-main were great for me. I bet OSP straight up and my only prop was win in r2 because the sub in r2 wasn't offered. Not once did the commentators mention his von flue sub wins... and I did not expect what happened as it looked like an easy decision win for him. I also live bet him at -112 after rd1. Ridiculously good odds considering how the fight was going.

I bet Overeem straight up and I hedged with Sakai rd1 KO. I also bet Overeem to win in r3 and in r4 doh... should have filled the block. But I live bet Overeem at +180 after Rd2.
The fight went just as I expected except I couldn't believe just how great Overeem's IQ was last night. Truly remarkable. When Overeem gets on top it's a nightmare... brutal shots and I have to say Herb Dean did an excellent job in the stoppage.

Re: MMA Thread

Andrea Lee (-310) to beat Modafferi 3.1u to win 1u

This is such a mismatch, I truly believe this line should be much closer to -550, I doubt it will close past -400 though.

What we are seeing here is Modafferi`s shelf life as a gatekeeper coming to an end, having done her duty at the UFC.

Andrea has so many paths to victory, the best one I believe is via simple Boxing combinations as Modafferi does not have any head movement, if she could go back to her Kyokushin leg kicks of the past she could also chop the Happy Warrior, who hardly ever checks legkicks and has much wear and tear at 37.

Modafferi`s only path to victory is by submission, unfortunately for her KGB is physically superior and holds a legit brown belt plus explosiveness to get back to her feet as we saw in past fights.

Lee was very unlucky in her past outing drawing that spaz Jeff Rexroad as a referee, plus a judge that didn`t watch the fight much (lol Rogan was on point during commentary for once).

So many variables were at play during that Split Decision loss:

1- Lee had issues w her mouth piece, it came out x2 in Rd 1 and Rexroad gave her a stern warning. Now nothing wrong with this but the way he warned her was "Make sure you don`t spit it out again!" or something along those lines. In Rd 3 when it comes off for the 3rd time Rexroad tell her she would lose a point if it came out again.

She never spat it, it was badly fitted and came off while she was 3-4 combo punching Murphy each time.

Again I believe at the end of Rd 2 Rexroad struck again as Lee had just taken down Murphy and as she was getting up she kneed her head with maybe still 1 hand on the mat. She immediately looked at the ref and he spazzed and almost jumped on top of them, everyone was expecting him to stop the fight and warn Lee but instead he changes his mind, now with Murphy on top of Lee allowing her to steal the round.

2- Terrible ref throughout the fight (see above)

3- One of the judges was not watching the fight lol, Rogan and his partner commented on this, in a Split Decision fight ....

https://mmacore.tv/videos/Lauren_Mur...art_3/10341692

Lee is such a great prospect if she tightens up her Boxing and in her prime, terrible taste in men though lol:

https://www.mmafighting.com/2019/5/3...ine-month-hunt

The Happy Warrior is a legend, but at 37 her time has passed. She recently got buff and everyone was hoping to make a late carreer run but unfortunately she does not have the physicality required for that. She has many holes in her game that KGB should easily exploit.

Good luck everyone! Make that maney $$$

Absolutely agree. His style has evolved over the years but he can still go back to his old style if the right opponent is across from him. Most fighters only have one style. But yeah Ngannou is a problem.

Re: MMA Thread

Anyone like anything for Bellator today?

Hoping Machida can avenge the robbery from years ago if he can do it at 42 that would be impressive, no bets for me though at the moment

Re: MMA Thread

I wish Machida and Wonderboy were both 10 years younger

I hope MMA gets a few more stars who fight the way they do coming through the ranks soon

WB still has a few years left I guess but i'm scared every time I see him that he's about to be past it, he could still make a title run I guess but it has to be now, that random fluke Pettis loss hurt so much

I am glad Machida is fighting appropriate competition in Bellator now at 42, would love to see him get the win over Davis after he got robbed the first time

Haven't been watching the card so far as i'm a bit busy and have no idea who most of the undercard fighters are except for Zingano, Carvalho and Smith but will tune in for the main

Re: MMA Thread

Got two bets for tonight

Hill at 1.8 which looks bad at current odds.
Been impressed with her improvement the last few fights and was impressed with how she dealt with Gadelha's grappling.

Waterson is undersized, her striking is more flashy then effective. She is a slick grappler though which worries me over a 5 round fight. Don't think its huge value but I like Hill here.

Other bet is Kish at 3.25, just too wide for me in what should be a mid level competitive wmma bout.

Bellator card is way more interesting. A few people that I respect from a betting perspective like Neiman Gracie not sold myself. Think Fitch can keep it standing and he's the more seasoned striker.

Mix vs Archuleta is a great fight, no bets for me but looking forward to it.

That was the most uncomfortable I have been listening to that poor guy cry all over the floor. It was a traumatic experience.

think fitch is still gonna take him down. rory did fine on top, ruth did okay for stretches on top. three round fight I think jon will be fine getting on top. its not like neiman is just gonna automatically sub him.

Re: MMA Thread

Well that has to be the end of Roosevelt Roberts hype surely

Am on Sarj here, +250 seems tempting she's quite decent and this should be competitive on paper

Down small for the card via sweat bets so far, but a Eubanks win would get me into positive

Might take some Waterson in the main but undecided
