Maybe impatience, like a young poker player.

Also, forgot about Jim Miller overcoming lyme disease. That's likely a big cause of why he looked slow and less athletic in past years.

Damn, just hearing Lyman lost his father last month, concerned about my bet now.

I gave Emmett 10-8 on that final round too. After knocking Burgos down twice I still had it 10-9 but then he landed a 3rd power punch that would have KO'ed most fighters and that put it over the edge for me.

Helluva chin on Burgos. Never seen someone keep moving forward after getting stung so much and it wasn't a movie.

Sick fight there. Shoulda sold Burgos for profit after 2 but thought there was a slim chance he won r1 at the time

Took a little Volkov for main think he gets hulksmashed in r1 a lot but if he doesnt and can keep it standing he does have the better hands, 4 bucks at HW with a path to win etc

Burgos not the best firght IQ, although perhaps he thought he could break Emmets hand with his face, who knows.

Would love Volkov at like 8 bucks in play here but alrdy live

Blaydes breathing heavy and Volkov took no damage

Obv 10- Blaydes but if he gasses late its 5 rounds and Blaydes is sweaty and breathing hard, Volk hasn't really done anything yet

Blaydes is exhausted problem is we're down 3 rounds so prob need to finish unless we can get 10-8s

Wow that is so frustrating to give up the TD there, Blaydes is absolutely gassed and we give up an easy TD

This fight has convinced me that Blaydes will never be the champ he has amazing physicality and wrestling but thats it

And only stood up once. By R3 it was obvious he was lay and prayin... and Herb Dean stood there like a minister. Total crap there should have been 5 standups which imo would have given a Fair chance for Volkov to win the fight.

Agreed ref should of stood them up a few times but Volvkov was gassed as well, not sure what you guys are seeing but he didn't have it in him to finish, he was giving take downs away!

Ya I missed nailing a cashout in r5 after he landed that kick it was back to face value briefly but by the time they tied up it was gone

Lost a little for the card went 3-4 onto the next etc

You should all watch Volkov-Minakov Bellator Championship fight from a few years back https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KOfDHZLQ1Ac. It was exactly the same fight as Volkov-Blaydes to the T.

If Volkov wants to ever amount to anything, he needs to train at a top American camp like ATT, or even go train with Fedor's team in Stary Oskol.

Burgos got the same problem like Justin Gaethje they both love to brawl way to much. I would like to see Emmett vs Ige/Kattar winner or Lil Heathen rematch.

Burgos reminded me of all of Gaethje's fights prior to Fergusson. Emmit reminded me of Gaethje fighting Fergusson.

tbh both guys are legit tough guys and fought a great fight. Both are top 10 guys and both on the way up. Burgos made a poor gameplan choice in R2/3 by abandoning the leg kicks as they had great effect. Not sure why he did but I think that cost him the fight. His chin was excellent but like Fergusson vs Gaetje there comes a point where the forward zombie approach starts to crack.

Burgos should of easily won that fight, given his skill set, his reach and size adv.
His lack of respect for his opponent and poor game planning cost him this fight and perhaps many more in the future.

Whether its poor game planning or the fact he doesn't want to fight with a game plan, who knows, prob the latter, if thats true then you have to be careful betting a guy like him, as we know, he just won't fight smart.

You can fight like that vs cans but it will cost him vs legit guys, they will exploit him. Really wonder what goes on in a guys head, is it a macho thing, show the world you are the baddest guy, no step back, no need for defense? smiling when you get cracked and dropped, like who are you trying to fool, you just look like a an amateur, trying to hide you just took a beating. Trying to save face or something??

What's he thinking? He could of fought smart, behind his jab and won quite easily imo, took way less damage, picked Emmett apart from the outside.

With Cormier retiring and Miocic being old, obviously Ngannou looks to be the guy to take over but he's still very one dimensional himself. Even with 2 losses to Ngannou, Blaydes could win the title. The biggest obstacle to him winning is probably UFC brass who aren't going to want to give title shots to such a boring fighter.

Thoughts on Dustin vs Hooker?

+175 seems like decent value on Hooker, pretty much all of Dustin's fights against top 5-10 guys have been very competitive. Him/Gaejthe was a battle, Alvarez he KO'd but caught a huge break vs, Max fight was back and forth and he really just won because of the power discrepancy. Max didn't properly put the weight on to fight at 155 for that fight.

Seems like a back and forth fight that is closer to 50/50

Dustin is a big step up for Hooker in terms of the competition while The Diamond has been banging with big boys for years.

Imo if you find value here it's bc of a long layoff, but he had a similar one before Holloway and looked very sharp. At his best Dustin should put Hooker away
