the guy who has never lost a round let alone a fight is going to lose to a fighter he just starched a few months ago lol?
If you want to have a reasonable discussion you can't be putting out false narratives like this. First off, at best it will be a full year and a half between fights but if the Khabib/Tony fight doesn't fall through it would be a full 2 years.
Also, Conor won a round from Khabib. I just rewatched the Tibau fight. I actually had Khabib winning rounds 2 and 3 but did have Tibau taking round 1. That being said Khabib was just 23 years old. He wasn't even in the same fight camp (was at AMA Fight Club in New Jersey).
On a side note, it's interesting that the stats show Tibau only had a takedown in round 3. Seems he had a similar one in round 2, but I still had him losing both of those rounds. I can also understand why the judges gave Khabib round 1 but I certainly do not agree with it.

why? because the guy he beat said he was on coke? cmon lol
I think the argument for Conor winning that fight is that he is a better fighter today than he was then and has taken steps to make himself a greater threat to the elite in the LW division. In particular, he has added a significant amount of muscle mass and is bigger and stronger than before. Based on his shoulder strikes it's likely he has been spending a significant amount of time working his clinch game which is critical vs Khabib. So yeah, shoring up his weaknesses and just improving overall as a fighter.
Tony Ferguson is the type of guy to make people forget about this rematch though.
